they were really enthusiastic in Sheffield. They sounded a lot better live than on record.
also sheffield was awesome (and they played a 15 minute long version of It's All Gonna Break) so you all better go to this because it will be awesome too.
what a great show, Kevin is a bastard for having seen Jeff Buckley at Shepherds Bush. At least he was overly grateful to be there!

i was there. one of the best shows ive ever seen. realy enjoyed the spoken word bits too.
The only people i talked to were from the southern hemisphere :D got lost with a very pretty australain trying to look for the empire from the other station too.
funtimes :D
That was the fifth time I'd seen them and I really didn't enjoy it, praps I was especially spoilt by the Koko show?
Was all very bloated, jam bandy and the crowd was horrible. I tried moving about 10 times but everywhere i went people were talking really loudly. And the beer at the bar on the left was really off, everyone i was with felt sick and couldn't finish their pints.
And what's with people heckling between every song for Feist to come on?
especially the beer from the bar on the left. Had one pint and felt sick.
Very underwhelming. Charles Spearin's stuff was the best bit of the night I thought. Did anyone think they played a lot of the songs really slow?! KC accidental was so lacklustre....
...apart from this really annoying woman next to me who would either be talking to her friends or dancing stupidly - she couldn't actually keep still for ONE second!
if you were near the front it was a great gig which as dissers most of you were. i got there late and then had to queue for aaaaages so missed the first 15mins and getting a good spot.
he soo should have! People tend not to cover Jeff as its a bit of a challenge.. especially since he did loads of covers..
although i did see My Brightest Diamond covering a track off the 2nd disc of sketches and i still long for a day to hear it again/hear a recording/find a video on youtube. But alas!
me!
:D
Good stuff!
Do you know if The Brunettes are any good? Haven't had time to check them out yet.
yes

It's All Gonna Break
yes
it was wonderful. maybe the most exhilarating live band i've ever seen.
yes
also good on kevin yelling at idiots who talked through lovers spit! what the fucK!
Also the crowd at the front was awesome... any DiSers? Everyone was speculating about Feist and such but hey.
no
we didn't realise they were on so early so missed the first ten minutes or so.
also they did major label debut (fast) after ibi!
fucking incredible

and my god
the first 2 songs! I could have left happy after that. the crescendo in ibi dreams of pavement may be my favourite live moment of all time.
yes!!!
i've only seen them do it before at Reading 06 and it was magic. The same thing with doing 7/4 second too.
Broke Me Up was worth a mention - i think they've played the whole of spirit if over the last 3 london shows.
also i've got the setlist and they were supposed to do I'm Still Your Fag instead of Pacific Theme but hey.
we had to leave
as soon as pacific theme started.
then again i now have a shirt that reads "fucked up kid" as a result.
sexy.
amazing
absolutely amazing!
ill never forget how hearing the 7/4 riff made me feel. it all sounded so damn good too
i know
kc accidental into 7/4 <3
:-(
im so sad i wasnt there :-(
at least i had mark and jeremy keep me company. peep show<3
Just got back
First BSS gig and it was amazing to see them live. Although, no 'Cause=Time' or 'Almost Crimes': that really disappointed me.
Also the 'experiment' was a head in hands moment. Nice idea, but better left in the bedroom.
Lovers Spit was chilling, amazing performance. Can't believe some of the crowd talked through it. As someone other people said, great start as well.
experiment
i thought it was brilliant, its better than clapping for 10 minutes for an encore.
I think its a pretty ingeniuous idea and there were some nice chords.
It was something original
but I just thought it kinda dragged and got over-repetitive pretty quickly.
Looking forward to the new BSS Presents album though, new material sounded quite good.
yeah and clapping to it!
wtf?!
i was
standing right next to that poor man :)
WAS I AT THE SAME GIG?
That was the fifth time I'd seen them and I really didn't enjoy it, praps I was especially spoilt by the Koko show?
Was all very bloated, jam bandy and the crowd was horrible. I tried moving about 10 times but everywhere i went people were talking really loudly. And the beer at the bar on the left was really off, everyone i was with felt sick and couldn't finish their pints.

wrong
it was fucking incredible.
lol
you can't really judge a gig by the beer served.
I was a little disappointed with the BBS Presents heavy set, and yes the crowd were terrible apart from near the front.
to be fair
was on the barrier so the experience was a bit different...
people talking at gigs should be shot though.
presents heavy.... come one, bands move on - if you don't know spirit if its ones loss as its a brilliant record.
well i,,,,
frakkin' loved the show! i've waited for years to see BSS and loved it.
the upbeat songs were incredible, hearing backed out on the... and any time the horns came in! it's all gonna break....
SO GOOD!
exactly this
especially the beer from the bar on the left. Had one pint and felt sick.
Very underwhelming. Charles Spearin's stuff was the best bit of the night I thought. Did anyone think they played a lot of the songs really slow?! KC accidental was so lacklustre....
For me that was absolutely amazing
...apart from this really annoying woman next to me who would either be talking to her friends or dancing stupidly - she couldn't actually keep still for ONE second!
I was very near the front :)
absolutely
blinding show..managed to top the ATP set from Sunday (aside from the backed out on the cocks madness at ATP)
She was pretty damn annoying!
the people who kept talking during lover's spit were damn annoying though!
Bugger
damn annoying x2 = fail
:(
twas incredible
my first time
it's all gonna break was magnificent
500000000 times better than the Scala show
but not as good as Leeds Irish Centre in 2006. However, Ibi Dreams -> Major Label (Debut) equates to MAJOR WIN.
ahhhh
that was a lovely bss gig!
That was amazing
And I was in the crowd at the front!
Maybe one of the best gigs I've been to yet...not sure.
compared to koko
last year, I loved the additional brass section. And they played Ibi! Just about edged it, I think.
Loses points for idiots talking. 'To all those talking through that, you will endure failed relationships for the rest of your life'.
Amen to that.
it seems
if you were near the front it was a great gig which as dissers most of you were. i got there late and then had to queue for aaaaages so missed the first 15mins and getting a good spot.
whats
lisa lobsinger doing this year?!
For one tiny moment
I thought he was going to do a Jeff Buckley cover, but Lover's Spit instead was amazing.
Did I hear/see right - that was Gordon Moakes from Bloc Party wasn't it?
Oh, and haha to the woman next to me who got chucked out for smoking.
yes!!
he soo should have! People tend not to cover Jeff as its a bit of a challenge.. especially since he did loads of covers..
