me is going

me

although I feel like utter shit

this

I had approx 15 minutes' sleep last night but I'm excited.

I will be there

Two years I've been waiting for this!

I is hoping to be there

thanks to the lovely eova.

Did they play many old songs in Manc?

I think

they played around 3 songs from Shut Up... and one from the Sunset Rubdown EP. The rest was made up from Random Spirit Lover and three new songs. Unless Idiot Heart doesn't count as a new song?

hi

:( Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda

only had to pay train fare but Im like £8 short! GAYYYYY!

sold out

Dammit.

I have a pair to sell

£15 for them both if you're interested.

I was going now I cant be bothered

im sure I will regret this

same here

I know I am going to regret it too.

Me.

I am beyond excited!

sways decision:

they were really good last night, and they seemed very tired and was quite a short set. So its worth going to.

I was thinking

of not going last night but I convinced myself to go, especially as its their first ever UK tour.

They were really, really good live. Much better than I expected and incredible musicians. Their drummer/guitarist is supremely talented.

their second drummer was much better

the one who took to the drums from guitar. Reall good show though, good to see Spencer Krug touring the other bands. Swan Lake are up next.

yeh blue shirt

the girl from Pony Up!looked like a cartoon character too.

They seemed very tired at first, 'we got up really early this morning' lolz..and still manage an uplifting great show..oh and the fuckups.they were good too

As echoed

in the comments, yeah the one in blue.

Seeing as he played drums more than guitar, I reckoned he was the "main" drummer.

The one in the blue shirt?

I agree. I kept telling my friend how much I loved him, but she (my friend) didn't care :(

now, swan lake

I definitely wont drop out of that one. *promises self.

One of the best gigs I've ever been too

Seriously. I had ridiculously high expectations given Sunset Rubdown are pretty much my favourite band, and the wonderful bastards managed to exceed them. Stadiums And Shrines, Up On Your Leopard, Mending of the Gown and Trumpet Trumpet Toot Toot all blew my mind.

^ This

- absolutely amazing.

:(

the regret is kicking in

snap

if it makes you feel worse. In 2006, Final Fantasy and Grizzly Bear playing on the same bill there.

I decided to go

at 8:10pm - and very glad I did! You could tell the crowd were a hardcore bunch too and really happy to be there.

The Empty Threats Of Little Lord was amazing!!

Magical

It was pretty much a perfect gig (there was only one reason why it wasn't, and that wasn't down to the band) and up there in my top 5. Ever. Ever Ever.

Oh, actually two reasons

I know people want to hear their favourite songs but bands have things called SETLISTS. It really fucking annoys me when people start calling out for songs and (albeit fake) boos when the band politely say no.

There is trend in society now where people *Expect*, not just to be entertained, but entertained down to their own personal wishes. You should just feel fortunate you got to see them play.

Damn it!

and I missed them at the final fantasy/Grizzly bear gig too.
Im such a fool.

Excellent

A real surprise, much better than their first album. And they had a singing saw. You can't go wrong with a singing saw.

^ this

.

it was

so good, wasn't it? :)
hey, can you help me out with the setlist??

i've got

winged/wicked things
stadiums and shrines II
? ?
up on your leopard, upon the end of your feral days
idiot heart
stallion
shut up i'm dreaming of places where lovers have wings
three colours?????

then he played a new song and said
it was some kind of part two to 'for the pier(and dead shimmering)'
because this one annoying girl was requesting pier
the mending of the gown

~
encore:
? ?

..

encore was the empty threats of little lord.
what and amazing gig, good times.

.

cool, thank you :)

I am

totally gutted that you got Empty Threats, as it was only teased in Manchester. However, we did get Us Ones In Between.

They also played Taming of the hands

after shut up i'm dreaming. In fact it almost sounded like a Sunset Rubdown Medley.

I love not being drunk at a gig!

^^^^^

also, when did they play trumpet, trumpet??

That was indeed....

a very very special night. Spencer Krug is one of the finest songwriters of our generation i reckon.

Fireworks Night nailed it too. Warmed the crowd up nicely.

Jordan was the drummer in the blue and he is a major talent!

all in all, a great night.

^^

Completely amazing gig. Good crowd too- well done all (except for the red haired aussie bird- you're a twat).

Highlights for me- Trumpet Trumpet, Staduims and Shrines, that medley (LOVED the more rocky beginning to Shut Up I'm Dreaming), that sexy-in-a-prim-sort-of-way keyboard player.

And the drummer was stupidly good.

^^ again

You know it's still resonating in my brain? That hasn't happened in ages.

Again more kudos to the second drummer, one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of seeing.

Nice Pitchfork joke too.

Wow, just wow.

I've been singing THIS ONE'S FOR MAGGIE

all day long. I've been to around fifty shows this year, and this and Bjork were several leagues above everything else I've seen.

BTW

we did a black cab session with sunset rubdown before and it could be my favourite so far. should be up soon
