Quite an interesting idea - it's about a man that is ambivalent about his girlfriend because of her weight. Typical LaBute- quite close to the bone.
Also, Jeremy Webb is in it! Yay. Even though he's not as good as David Mitchell.

i was reading about this the other day
it looked appealing. i'd quite like to go and see it. i love fatist comedy. look at the fat people!! hhahahaha!! fatties.
i like fat people
they're all cuddly and nice
and funny and happy
im not sure if I was
in fact i must have been quite moody when i was heavy-set, because certain people used to utter the immortal line "youre not very jolly for a fat bloke" to me (which was sure to cheer me up)
when were you fat?
I so can't believe it.
i was quite big
around 6 stone heavier than i am now. I suppose "obese" would be about right considering I was quite short too!
tbh
I miss not being thrown around by the occasional breeze. It was safer.
ha ha :)
I was like super super skinny when I was 15 (5 stone at one point) and whenever it was windy, I would have to stand really really still in order not to be blown away. It was comedy. People would walk past on the way to school going 'Why are you standing there?' I'd be like, 'Just am!'
Or if the wind was heading in the other direction, I just wouldn't be able to walk. It was like being pushed up against an invisible wall.
same direction, I mean!
Are you up for another play?
See
as a 22 year old man I should not be experiencing this! I feel like I am being thwarted by nature, which in this case is a light gust. Of course Id be up for another play! Except this time it has to have a plot. And be good. And if not good have lots of really obviously bad qualities, preferably ones that affirm my cynicism :)
okay, i'll text you once i sort it out with gaz
Oh, dear. You should get a personal windshield. This thread reminds me: Half Ton Dad - really have to watch this somehow.
Yeah, last time...I still want to apologise for how lame it was! This play has Jeremy Webb in it, though! And it was meant to have Kris Marshall from My Family, but he had an accident. Damn it. They should reduce the price: 'I wanted to see the man from the BT advert!' I'm pretty sure it'll be good. If it's bad, it'll be cynicism squared cos Neil's such a misanthropic old man.
Ok awesome
Yeah you should get them under the trade descriptions act or something. I could definitely go for misanthropic, though I've not seen anything by Neil LaBute. I do find Kris Marshalls face quite annoying for some reason, so really I dont mind about him not appearing. Actually I saw this advertised in the paper and considered it...weight seems to be a recurring theme at the moment, I think its fat(e). Oh and don't worry about the play, you didn't make it! I was just as sucked in by the binoculars and promise :-( of violence.
hey klaire
once i've sorted out dates i'll let you know, if you want to come along.
Is there where I say I once told a girl I'd go out with her
if she lost some weight? Then I thought it was kind of an in-joke between us so I brought it up again ("Hey, lose some weight!" or something) and she didn't speak to me for 2 months. Good times.
how fat is she?
i think you need to see this
The fat lady...
...in question is a flatmate of the girlfriend of a DiS writer.
Yes.
FACT.
I would like to go
can you please let me know if you are getting tickets?
i'll sort it out tomorrow
and let you know
it'll be on a wednesday/thursday i guess? you're around aren't you?
I'm around generally yes
HERZEUS!
it's like £25 for the cheapest ticket. Fucking Trafalgar Studios. I missed out on a Philip Ridley play before because of their extortionate pricing.
Do you still want to go?
