:)

Ace.

Do you know if James Brown The Godfather Of Soul can make it?

By the way Nestie nests I asked Bearsuit re: Leeds - they've agreed to play the Brighton and Oxford ones so we could be in luck.

I've never met him

But the Leeds Brainlove all-dayer is happening for sure, thanks to him and Nestor - see below. And it's actually blossoming into an awesome three day party with Brainlove, Deku Tree and On The Bone all booking bands!

I'm going to be away on August 2nd :(

I hate my summer arrangements

Nooooooooooooooo

oooooooooooooooooooooo

But who'll take us out dancing in Leeds without you to guide us commander? Oh, I guess we'll be in the right place anyway.

But still!

I'll see what I can do

there's a small chance I might be able to make it but I'll have to look at arrangements that have been made a bit nearer the time...

We're still thinking about it...

And although the weather looks good, if it's not, acoustic bands will be in the darkroom at the back - if the weather is nice, they'll play in the yard by the seating and BBQ where Niall did his recounting and recanting and ranting last year...

i've not heard people

call that shed 'the darkroom'.
what time is seamus firing up that bbq?

BBQ?

I didn't know about a barbecue. Tell me about the barbecue.

FREE BARBECUE!

We're gonna get it going early and spread it throughout the afternoon...

that is such an awesome line up

feel my jealousy, people who are going :(

By the way, people who are missing out -

i've

written the brighton date in my diary in wax crayon so i can't rub it out.

Want some fish and chips on the pier this time? Are you down for the weekend?

I was planning to buy on the door.

Is that still doable?

Yes I think there'll be 30-odd door tickets.

It's gone well, this one. Flavourpill recommended us in their mailout! I'm hoping we're one of the top five things to do in The Guardian. It's become a small obsession of mine to get that one day.

if you can make sure there's a ticket on the door

there's £10 going to you mr. brainlove.

Arse

I'm going to miss Jam On Bread :(

(and the DJs will go on longer, I just didn't want

to put myself at the top of the bill because you know what is this some kind of self-glorifying personality cult?*).

(*answer: No, no John, it isn't.)

I'll try and gt down there

*takes notes*

Hi!

I'm in London this weekend.

LET'S DO IT.

A new DiSer huh.

This post is a lame excuse to bump the thread, hence the mid-thread positioning and 'nothing to say' nature of it. In case you hadn't guessing.

BUMP!

CRUMP!

CONVERSATION ILLUSION!

I probably won't be there

not that I don't want to ( quoique... )

Have good fun !

oh yeah...

Le Couteau Jaune is an awful name.
Hope the music is better...

You'd hate it.

What does

"Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp" translate as?

I gave them a listen...

nothing to hate...

well...

not really...
for me anyway...

I think I'm supposed to be going to this

If it's all sold-out though, I'm a gonna be miffed.

I'll see what I can do.

I MAKE NO GUARANTEES. I'm like a candle in the wind, or something.

Oh bambam.

You little tease.

oi

you better have good weather too. i don't want no rain ok?

I'll write a letter to Boris Johnson requesting

sun. He controls it now apparently.

i will be there

waving my windmill card at whomever is on the door.

got it for my birthday.

it's like an artrocker card, but for the windmill. :-P

i totally forgot CIP were playing

triple bonus points

Yay, a fifty-er thread.

Just like the "good" old days.

I'm going

Until a couple of days ago, I thought this was on Sunday.

Lucky that I checked the date isn't it?

In the words of Levi Stubbs:

I'll be there.

In the words of Sinead O'Connor:

Nothing Compares To U.

Brainlovin' all around the world.

Well, in England at least. I needed an excuse to use that phrase.

so seems ive missed the first band

who is going, eh?

i don't think so

i think my body is failing and i need to go back to bed.

* DiS

I wish :(

Paul Hawkins said he was

I directed him to the pub that used to be the Hobgoblin to watch the footie before. Dunno that he's defo going there though.

nah

my head is filled with cement and i am stupidly stupidly ill.

still undecided

i'd like to, as there's so many good bands and i really want to see jam on bread & cats in paris again, but i've seen all t'others plenty times before and i'm feeling lazy. hmm.

update:

ive put my socks on

you trendsetter

i need to do that

nope

cricketcricketpizzacricket

!

best show I've been to all year

counting ATP. So much talent, so much friendliness so much free bbq.

I would do a paragraph on each fun thing but it would stretch into about a dozen paragraphs.

Well done everyone involved.

:'-)

Awesomely high praise sir!
I would like dearly to read your twelve paragraphs... squeeze some ink out of your squid and pluck a quill from the nearest peacock and get scribbling, sir scribe.

. ... . . ..

best stuff was jam on bread in that garage room thing, le couteau jaune and gay against you, and tim ten yen. what i saw of pagan wanderer lu and team brick was good too.

thought cats in paris were pretty boring, and most of the acoustic stage was forgettable. good day though!

I met theguywithnousername

last night at this. We talked about pseudonmyns. Then I did not know what else to say so I ran off.

It was a day of top entertainment, my personal highlights being Applicants and Tim Ten Yen and the shouty poet man outside.

I'm more important than you! My conservatories have won awards!

Everything from CIP onwards was great, bar Le Caouteau Jaune, who were just attention seeking rubbish.

Tim Ten Yen for Eurovision 2009!

Tut

Le Couteau Jaune were fun...

I enjoyed this a lot

good to see those of you who were there. s'been a while.

And we're doing it again!

Manchester in 2 and a bit weeks...

Had to leave

after Cats in Paris which I was a bit gutted about as it was a lovely atmosphere.

Team Brick and Cats in Paris slayed.

Yeah, shame, it got even better!

Real Feal fucked shit up with their grungey dayglo distorto-racket...

Jam On Bread played a heartbreakingly humble and sweet unamplified set in the shed...

Tim Ten Yen did his usual set of pop classics and looked/sounded sharper than ever...

Pagan Wanderer Lu played a pretty, folksy set with some volunteers...

Napoleon IIIrd rocked out! He played as a 3-piece band, the stuff of the new EP sounded SAVAGE!

Le Couteau Jaune pulled everyone onto the floor... it was like a kind of clothed indie kid orgy set to tinny beats and screeching.

Gay Against You did a fucking awesome set, the room just went up into a giant happiness riot, honestly, it was everyone's good mood peaked simultaneously and...

*SIGH*

:D
