Yes! Red!

and It Ends With A Fall!! Minus 10,000 indie points to me for not knowing who the bloke was on guitar until Will Sheff introduced him!!!

That's probably the best they've been when I've seen them. Even the Stage Names songs sounded good. So, was that the last chance we'll get to see them at a 'small' venue? They're playing SB Empire in November it seems.

yep

the bush empire show is already onsale.

A Stone

tonight was maybe my favourite gig moment ever. Actually, getting let in for £10 as they came on stage after waiting around in vain for tickets outside was probably even better.

Good work!

I was with a friend and we also managed to get in last minute (I bought a spare from a punter, he got let in like you). What a great gig. Can't wait for payday so I can get some SB tickets!

I'm pretty sure

it was your mate I was talking to about ATP outside, if he was Irish and called Dave. If he isn't then it probably wasn't.

Yep

That was him! They were great at ATP, so we figured we'd try and see them in a small venue - especially with Charles from the Wrens still in the band.

This was amazing

one of those great feel good gigs. And I'm not normally a fan of the Borderline, but tonight they went some way to changing my mind.

wow

they were so good, so glad to see 'red' the boderlines tarvern like setting really suited them a flawless gig

A stone really was great

a genuine tearjerker, one highlight from many. Charles slotted in very nicely, I thought.

Excellent show.

true

'a stone' gave me goosebumps. and it was pitch-perfect (to my ears).

My Dad went

I didn't. I feel horrible.

it was great

not sure it topped the scala show but post-John Allyn Smith Sails they were on fire and when they are there's nary an indie band that can touch them.

how was the new song?

I can't wait to see them at Truck, it's been too long (well, 6 months).

pretty twangy

and called "Singer Songwriter". it's from a new EP that's out in the autumn, of stuff that didn't make it onto The Stage Names.

Crowd

seemed to warm up half way through and then it was onwards and upwards. 'So Come Back I Am Waiting' was a definite 'moment'. Last song, 'Westfall' was fantastic as well. Not many bands I could watch twice in a few days.

westfalls was so good

will getting the whole crowwd to chant 'evil dont look like anything' like some kind of preacher was slightly creepy given the context of the song

at ATP

he said something like "sing along if you want. this song is about MURDER!" :D

Cocksticks.

They played So Come Back?

I'd kill to see them play that. They've not played on the 2 sets i've seen of theirs.

Excited about the November tour, the Manchester date is very near my birthday.

Did anyone get a setlist for this?

I don't want to have forgotten any of the songs played.

Can't remember the exact order

but it was something like:

President's Dead
Black
Hand to Take Hold of the Scene
Singer Songwriter (new song)
The Latest Toughs
It Ends With A Fall
A Stone
John Allyn Smith Sails
So Come Back I Am Waiting
Girl In Port
Our Life Is Not A Movie Or A Maybe/For Real
Unless It's Kicks

Encore

Red
Plus Ones
Westfall

Thank you

Much appreciated. Going to set it as a playlist to reinact to some extent.
