I mean by the futurama thing that hopefully it uses new jokes and not ones that have already been done in the show, like the simpsons movie did

Futurama > Simpsons
well in the case of running periods, when Futurama started they were both about the same level of quality but as Futurama got better Simpsons declined... declined and declined.

Simpsons is great but has gone on too long, Futurama was cut down in its prime.

The next one looks like it's delving into the world of Lovecraft which should be fun.
