"Apparently Frankie baby isnt happy about Joey being in the squad (Joey critisized him for releasing a book straight after the WC saying how he played crap, just to make money)and refuses to talk to him, won't pass the ball in training etc. Seems at the breakfast table yesterday, Joey sat at the same table as Frank but Frank chucked a fit ,got up and walked away. Joey yelled at him in front of the whole, staff etc "don't worry, I wasnt gonna pinch your breakfast you fat prick" to howls of laughter from players including Micah Richards & Aaron Lennon."
- Stubs lit cigar into both eyes of a junior player.
- Hits a 15-yo Everton fan whilst on tour, then hits, kicks and bites his club captain for mediating.
- instiagates ten-man brawl at pre-season friendly at Doncaster, which involves him calling Leo-Fortune West some rather awful names.
- breaks a pedestrians leg after (allegedly) drink-driving in Liverpool.
- drunkenly drives a club car through the window of a car showroom, absconds, arrested in a taxi on the motorway
- questioned for assaulting taxi driver in Liverpool.
- sickenigly assaults Ousmane Dabo resulting in serious facial injuries for tackling him in training.
- attacks a woman in Liverpool city centre after a night out.
It's a shame, because believe it or not he's actually a pretty bright lad.
I'm torn between the idea that all should be equal in the eyes of the law and the American concept that fines should be proportionate according to the money that the offender has available to them.
I still really like him. I think it's great that he speaks completely openly and honestly in a sport overrun with PR teams and cliches. And he's a bright guy too. Just obviously has a serious anger problem, which he's shown a desire to get help with for some time. Good luck to him.
Barton gets a hell of a lot of Daily Mail-esque "string him up" stances from the people on these boards. I'd expect a bit more of an understanding attitude to his obvious mental issues (which he seems to be trying to overcome) rather than all this demonisation
And lets be fair here - despite his obvious issues you can't say that the other people involved in the case were helpless puppies viciously attacked by a rabid mongrel. I seem to remember there being a strong case for provocation, something to do with them mentioning his murderer half brother, and even so it's fairly believable that the "attacked" were itching for a fight or were knowingly attempting to enrage him. Similiar cases for provocation were put forwards for the Dabo/cigar incident as well
He's no angel of course, but he does seem to be demonised by various sections of the public and press
apparently Barton drank 10 pints and five bottles of lager, then punched this guy 15-20 times in the face, then a 16-yo passer-by 4-8 times in the face. Lols.
I don't know!
Ha. What a fucking idiot.
This isn't for the Dabo assault then, just for slapping that bird in Liverpool?
Sad thing is he'll probably be out in 6-8 weeks. Shame, if he wasn't an absolute cock he couldn've been one of the best midfielders in the country.
He's the Pete Doherty of football
A complete and utter waster.
What a dick
oh it is clickable
what a tard i am.
Why hasn't he been sectioned yet?
He's clearly mental, it's only a matter of time before he kills someone/
il section you
but yeah you are right
Although i think it's all forgivable for this.

where did you get this from?
joey barton is my new hero
^ brilliant
He'll never learn
because I don't think he has the requisite cognitive mechanisms.
bit of a roll of honour:
- Stubs lit cigar into both eyes of a junior player.

yeah he sounds it
pretty mediocre player as well
...
I've heard that. Because he's the first one in his family to have left school without a police escort.
despite the frank jibes
he is a complete waste of space
newcastle should get rid of him (not for this, but because of his general attitude)
Hit some guy 20 times then knocked out a 16 year olds teeth. Yikes.
http://tinyurl.com/5mtc6e
he's been an excellent example
of professionalism, both on and off the field, since this incident
I hope he's allowed to do his time and return to action when able
That's because
he's been banged up in some clinic in Hampshire.
so he's clearly benefited
from receiving adequate support and guidance
awesome.
2,500 isn't nearly enough..........
these pricks earn that in about 3 hours.
I'm torn between the idea that all should be equal in the eyes of the law and the American concept that fines should be proportionate according to the money that the offender has available to them.
the amount of time it takes him to earn it
is probably proportional to the time taken for the person receiving it to 'earn' it
I'd let someone punch me in the mouth for two and a half grand. Easy money.
Despite all his problems,
I still really like him. I think it's great that he speaks completely openly and honestly in a sport overrun with PR teams and cliches. And he's a bright guy too. Just obviously has a serious anger problem, which he's shown a desire to get help with for some time. Good luck to him.

what's happening about beating that guy up
during training at City?
He's on bail
for that I think he's due in court in June for that!
i thought so
I remember reading about the club lawyers trying to get it put back so it didn't mess up our season
This story's comedy gold...
