to kill some time in work, i started thinking about how great it would be if stephen malkmus, thurston moore and j mascis started up a "supergroup".
malkmus would be on guitar/vocals, moore on bass and mascis on drums.
then i thought they could call it MAMOOMA... but that could potentially make the whole thing woeful.
who would you like to see come together for a supergroup collaboration?/what collaboration would make you want to stab yourself in the ears?
so much kill
i'm scared.
i'll up the kill:
the roster of KILL rock stars collaborating with the KILLers and the KILLS.
Surely Killswitch Engage could be involved, somehow?
And the
Little KILLers
audioslave could probably do with a good killing
parts > sum of
ok then
PJ Harvey - vocals
Jonsi Chap out of Sigur Ros - vocals
Kim Deal - Bass
Johnny Greenwood - Guitar weirdness
Kurt Ballou - Guitar chugging
Him out of Mastodon - Drums
Merzbow Chap - electronics
plus the string section out of A Silver Mt Zion.
Fuck Alone knows what they would sound like, but I would buy the record.
Mick Karn, Mark King, Pino Palladino and Jaco Pastorius are...
...The Fretless Four.
Would be totally unlistenable; but quite a funny Fast Show-style sketch
oh and recorded by Steve Albini
obviously
avant as fuck
I would love
Yannis Foals- Guitar, vocals
JFK DFA1979- Bass, Vocals
Him from Minus the Bear-Drums
Justice would also be involved.
my band heaven would be
Mark Langegan - lead vocal
Johnny Marr and Billy Duffy - twin guitar attack
Geezer Butler - Bass
Mike Bordin of Faith No More - Drums
Remixing/keys/squelchy noises by Erol Alkan
Ok it would sound like a bloody mess but a marvellous bloody mess!
umm..
thom yorke - vocals
johnny greenwood -guitar wierdness
an egg on drums
Edobrien - guitar normalness
a rocklobster on bass.
i'd call them The Radioheads.
they'd make me want to kill
myself because i'll never be as good.
My supergroup is called
Head Wound City and they voted for Bush.
I want to get Lightning Bolt and Mogwai to play something together...
...just to see what'd happen.
Mine!
Hayley Williams - Lead Vocals (still haven't gotten over my Paramore obsession yet)
Rivers Cuomo - Guitar + Backing Vocals
Regina Spektor - Keyboards/Piano
John Stanier (from Battles) - Drums
That's one sexy line-up right there.
my band
HEALTH Drummer on Drums
Seb Rochford on Drums as well yep 2 drum kits...
Squarepusher on Base.
Kevin Sheilds on Guitar
Jimi Hendrix on Guitar
Final Fantasy on Violin
Iggy Pop on Vocals
M.I.A. Vocals
two plus drum kits are awesome
damn right
and with this combo I have pure power and bastlyness with the HEALTH drum he is so damn good and then Seb Rochford can do anything from powerful smashing to complicated intricuate hit anything to make the perfect rhythem style of drumming.
This is pretty difficult
I reckon this lot would do something interesting
Victor Villareal - guitar
Sly Stone - organ, vocals
Murph - drums
Colin Greenwood - bass
I dunno if what they'd do would work though...
