What do I write in this box?

I'm applying for student accomodation and it's asking me to

"Please give other relevant information to assist with the allocation of your application, for example - interests, likely activities, dietary needs, study patterns and temperament, non-smoker etc."

Would it be appropriate to say that I watch lots of films and like to listen to music? And that I paint/do general art stuff (which would probably be assumed by the course I'm doing)? Uh.. I actually have no idea.

Also, it asked me to tick a box if I liked peace and quiet. I'm not going to tick it, is this wise? I figuired if I tick it, I might end up sharing a flat with someone who will moan at me for putting music on and suchlike. But on the other hand, I'm not keen on sharing with 'party ANIMALS'..

yeah i'd say so.

they probably attempt to match people up with people that have similar interests and hobbies.

i wouldn't tick that box. unless you want peace and quiet.

basically it's like a self description thing,

and they try to pair you with people you're likely to integrate well with. Don't be too vague though, because everyone in my student halls flat just seemed to put stuff like 'music' and 'films' and other such general categories and a few of them were completely bizarre, Herman Munster a-likes.

You also won't end up with party animals if you don't tick the box; if you do then the consequences will be far worse, i'm sure

In order to get a single room at uni

I made up a story that I was obsessed with teletext and that I always flicked onto it during programmes that people were watching to read the teamtalk pages and play Bamboozle. I added that I made really horrible throat clearing noises by force of habit.

It worked. Do that.

^ do this if there is a mixture of

shared and own rooms.

My halls were all own rooms. I just said flat out that i'd rather not move away from home if it involved sharing and didn't apply for the residences with said living arrangements

All the rooms are for single occupants anyway,

but the flats are shared between three and ten people.

So if I make myself out to be an enti-social freak, I'll probably get grouped with a large group of the same. Which thinking about it, I probably wouldn't mind an awful lot..

ten people will be FUNFUNFUN, but...

you will end up living in a sty and it's hard to get showers etc. I shared with 4 others which was perfect

i wouldn't tick the box

but i'd say my music taste and other things like that. i didn't when i applied, but i wish i had've, i ended up with rahs.

Devonshire Hall FTW!!

After all that shit I wrote, I did too. They absolutely hated me and called me 'Random John' for the duration of my time at uni. Not that I cared, I was more socially adjusted than them regardless of what they thought. I have never worn deck shoes or anything bought at Jack Wills.

It really is pot luck whatever you write.

I had trouble with this

I couldn't find a word that describes my interest in not being put with nobby stereotypestudents who are going CrAzY now they've cut the apron strings.

this bears no relevance

I put about my interests and half my flat are overseas students and the others I don't seem to share any interests with. Maybe it actually means I'm incompatible with people :(

i doubt it, it's because it's

so general. If everyone put music and films and literature, for example, i could quite easily end up with someone who enjoys all these things but not the types i like. In fact, this DID happen.
