Good places to buy electrical components online

I'm looking to buy some electrical compentents (eg. resistors, transitors, LEDs, wire, solder etc) and also some tools for fiddling with basic electronic circuits.

Anyone have any good suggestions for cheap and reliable sites I can by stuff like this from? Maplin seems a bit pricey...

Are you building a robot?

only I've done some designs.

Bump

just in case....

...

Oh... I was going to say Maplin. I bought replacement jacks for my headphones and some soldering crap from there and it was quite reasonable, I thought.

I think I'll draw up a list and go in

their website is really frustrating...

we use RS at work

www.rswww.com

really good for us, we do gte a discount, but they're the original and best by most people's opinion I've met...

RS Components

It's in my town and I did work experience there.

Also it's meant to be good and stuff.

They seemed even more expensive than Maplin

I'll have another look tonight though.

Thanks anyway!

I think they're more reliable

so for repeat ordering etc they're better, but you might be better off with Maplin for a one off.

To be honest I only use it so often because it's set up with an account at work, so there's no requisition forms or anything.

I think I'm going to go into Maplin

tomorrow and see what happens.

More questions to follow!
