1. T2
2. Back to the Future pt III
3. Return of the jedi
4. Million Dollar Baby
5. Saving private Ryan (for thread purposes, the ending is everything apart from the opening scence)
Other nominations?
I know someone's gonna say 'No country for old men'. Don't let that person be you.
Hi! I'm starting a lot of threads today. Sorry about that.
Mean Girls
You don't want it to ever end?
I was disappointed that it didn't end up
in some kind of massive lezz-off.
Yeah, it seemed to be heading
that way.
Every film that isn't
Cross of Iron.
Where that kid starts laughing
Man that is a freaky ending.
I love when the tank bursts through the wall, and they throw the grenade under it in slow mo
Such a top film...
Peckinpah should've done more war films
I love it when the Russian kid runs away and the Red Army mow him down and are like "Oh well". That'll learn the little fucker
They just didn't care
DIDN'T CARE!!!!
And the contempt that the German office (played by Maximillian Schell I think) was treated by the guys on the front...
Die Hard
But Mrs McClane punches
that tv reporter in the face. HOORAY!
Yeah
but Karl somehow comes back to life after clearly being strangled to DEATH by a chain, and then Al Powell has to fire his gun at him to exorcise the ghosts of him shooting at that kid when he was a rookie.
IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE THERE.
Leave Al alone. He's
a fellow Calvin and Hobbes fan. He deserves his moment.
I'll leave you alone in a minute
Erm, recently 'I Am Legend'
The alternative ending is pretty shit too.
Off the top of my head I can only think of 'Sunshine'
what happens in the alternative ending?
Will anyone be annoyed if I say
I'm giving you 3 minutes to say so
Fine by me!
Never gonna watch it.
I make this at least
4 minutes...
You and your stats
Okey dokey
The vampire/zombie/monster things turn up at the house as they do in the theatrical cut, Neville hands the girl monster he took to experiment back to the alpha male monster and they all live happily ever after
oh that really is shit isn't it
Yup
I can't decide if its less shit than the other ending though. 'Tis a shame, I reet enjoyed the film up until then
the other ending is way better
though the whole last third is rushed
Really
how shit
The Orphanage
Oooo.
Have to disagree with you on that one Bob!
Disagreeing, eh?
What's so good about a bunch of pseudo JM BArrie lens flare and cuddles. BOO TO THAT.
MAYBE SOME OF US
WERE NEVER GHOSTS AND NEVER GOT PETER PAN READY TO US BY AN OLDER GHOST DID YOU NOT CONSIDER THAT?
sap
no way
Really?
I liked how you went "Oh nom this ending is shit!"
"Oh wait, that wasn't what happened. Good."
the really good ones that you never want to end
Cool Runnings
That German guy should have laughed HARD in their face for buying a crap sled and then crashing their crap sled.
Really spoilt the whole film for me.
the village
what was that all about!
im still gonna say no cuntry cos it was just turd
i take back no cuntry for old men
cos that would imply that the rest of the film wasnt as dull as the end. which it was
Good for you!
POW!
Didnt like the film. IMO was bit boring
*awaits abuse*
That's your opinion, and you're not alone on it.
I thought it was the best thing the Coens have doen since Lebowski.
I personally thought There Will be Blood is a terrible, terrible film, but no one seems to agree with me about that.
*no one here
at any rate.
i agree with you
but then i haven't even seen it, so it probably doesn't count for much
actually it should count for more
that film is so terrible that i haven't even seen it.
it was fucking boring
plus had very little plot, and tommy lee jones was shit, and the ending was just the laziest thing ever,
i was thinking sheeeeeeeeeeit this film is long i wish it would end soon but i cant see any logical ending point in sight, and then its over just like that. balls
The Village
'cause as much as I hate most of what Syamalan does, he actually had a pretty good atmospheric film worked up until he pissed it up the wall with that stupid irritating cameo of his.
cypher
war of the worlds
Which one?
it was ruined
when tom cruise reached the credit sequence without being murdered or raped or anything. something HAD to happen to the fuck
have you read the book?
i've kinda forgotten the exact ending of the film, but i remember it being kind of pretty much on par with the book.
...
actually, i dont mind that a virus killers all the aliens, but it's that whole family being reunited shit. does that happen in the book too? cuz if it does, then the book is shit as well
sort of
but the book is a good read. its written like a blockbuster but it feels somehow more intelligent and real than the film
i think they get back together but its just him and his wife, but its not drawn out or anything, its ok. and shes not 200miles away shes only ever a few london miles
the film ending
is different to the book in that you see the aliens die in the film and in the book hes been hiding out for 2weeks in a ruined house, and comes out to find them all dead
this
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0273517/
it has possibly the worst ending for a movie I've ever seen, it's like they just ran out of money at the end and slammed together what they had left
yeah i hate it when that happens
see also: Flight of The Living Dead aka Plane Dead. really disappointing ending to what was a wicked schlocky zombie flick
The orphanage
great horror film, poor ending
what dont you like about the end of terminator 2?
BUT JOHN, THERE IS ONE MORE CHIP!
*arnie disappears, thumb pointing to the sky*
HAHA
its AMAZING SCENE(S)
A.I.
It had about five endings, all in a row, and they were all gash.
American Werewolf in Paris
From Dusk till Dawn (the whole second part of that film)
Fight Club
28 Days Later
Anti-climatic as the ending to 28 Days Later may be
its about a million times better than the other ending Danny Boyle came up with and never used
What was that one?
exactly the same but Jim died
I think that ending was filmed, wasn't it?
There was an even worse one story-boarded, see below
The manage to restrain Frank
and get him to one of the labs where the Rage virus was engineered. A scientist there tells them that a complete blood transfusion cures the disease, so Jim volunteers. So, so stupid.
as soon as they got
to the army camp it became rubbish
As soon as they left the flat, I'd say.
But yeah, agreed again.
I don't know
they got to see Manchester at its best :D
yeah agreed
and i genuinely think 28 months later is much better than 28 weeks later
Madness
28 Months Later has some great bits, but some utterly fucking ridiculous bits
HAS IT LEAKED??
*oops!!!
Hehe
Just noticed that. Apparently Boyle is back on board to write and direct it, He is planning to set it in Russia
and it's superbly entertaining and freaky
28 weeks later goes from pretty cool to see london all empty like, oh look there are survivors, to utter utter shit
*28 days!!!
28 WEEKS is superbly entertaining and funny
28 DAYS is shit overall
28 Days was good for the scenes of emptiness tbh
Personally I can't wait for 28 Months. EUROZOMBIE
yeah it's the emptiness that's good
seeing the city like that. otherwise it;s a bit poo, certainly after they leave the flat.
dya think 28 Months will be like Eurotrip but with zombies?
It would certainly make for some comic relief
in between all the infecting and shit!
do you mean 28 days later?
There isn't a 28 months later is there?
Robert Carlyle's character ruins it
The continuity errors between the two films don't help
What WERE the continuity errors?
I never really noticed any, but I'm sure there are a couple..
Mostly the mindlessness exhibited by the infected
in the first film, by Carlyle's seeming desire to find his family
what about the chained up black guy (like a slave! do you see!) in the first one
Your point being?
He is chained up, not restraining himself!
i dunno, he didnt seem to be quite as mindless as the others rampaging around
i might be wrong though
anyway, who cares. 28 months later is much better
Weeks!!!
weeeks
WEEEEEKKKKSSSS!!!1
*weeks > days
Yeah,
good shout on fight club.
is this an influence to real life events or did you just think it was a bad ending?
influence FROM..
real life events?
9/11? Nah, it's just a lame, cheesy ending.
it was pre911
so cant be anyway!
people have watched it after 9/11
Yes, I know.
I didn't really understand the question.
Dusk till Dawn
The second half is awesome. All films should end like that.
Maybe this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0196106/
I can't believe they wouldn't let a chimp play in the NHL.
actuaLOL
:D
the last Matrix film
yeah, bullshit.
I loved everything about Country For Old Men. The ending was great.
