I have just bought POrcupine, which I have never heard.

But am v familiar with Heaven Up Here, which is quiteawesome, but mired slightlym in thrall to Television and post punk monochrome.
So
Ocean Rain Or Porcupine?

I had Porcupine when it came out and thought it untoppable. Really stretched their shit out on this one. Not even really rock'n'roll, is it.

Then Ocean Rain came and it shone brighter. Now it seems a bit, hmmmm just a bit mind, "Pete Wylie, Macca, bring tha fookin professional scouse Philharmonic round, give me some chazz and let 'em do the work, la". If you know what I mean.

Now I am also a bit less bound up in his non sequiturtastic cosdwallop and think Porcupine, edges it.
Cos it has edge. Edgey edgey edge.
Mainly cos of Clay.
God I could listen to that song all day long.

But yes, Mr Ocean Rain, after that, it was all a bit like aband who sound exactly like the Bunnymen, to a T, but arent quite so good.

Fucking bravo to Mac tho.

Good fuckin band, la

Aye

:) You're Mac impersonation is spot on! His Liverpud accent is totally unintelligable, and when he adds the Guinness ...fuhgedaboutit.

God I loved this band in high school.

OK, still. ;)

Oh yeah: P>HUH>Croc>OR>>Grey>>everything else

I'm tempted to post twenty more times to catch up with the Cure thread.

Really tempted

I wrote the review for Siberia for this here site and gave it a 7/10 although it probably only deserved a 6/10. Don't tell Mike.

"My White Devil"

would be in my top ten forever (songs that is! arf!!)

Bunnymen blow everything else at the time away

his voice and the emotion and scope of their songs is incredible.

Excellent band

They reformed when I was at university (in liverpool) and the gigs I attended were, to say the least, 'emotional' - seem them about 4 times since and have found them a big boring, but that's overkill probably. Still brilliant

For some reason, Bring On The Dancing Horses

is one of my fave Bunnymen songs, after Killing Moon natch

ace band

i prefer ocean rain as a whole record, but porcupine has some tunes on it. the cutter's still got the best violin (?) riff ive ever heard. but ocean rains got the singalongs
froze to the bone in my igloo home, counting the days til the ice turns green

Crocodiles

every time for me. Still a great record and to me, their best.

oh bugger, in the first line, I meant to say

I have just bought Crocodiles
