This is not going to be pretty. I think we can scrape together a win through pluckiness, grit, determination, and other such staples of teams in the Championship who aren't much good at the moment. Stern John will save us (plus Sheff Utd have a weak-ish side today).

And COME ON STOKE.

We're the only team in the top 6 with nothing major to resolve today as we're in the play-offs but can't get automatic.

At the same time I'm hoping results go our way elsewhere as I really want it to end with us 4th and Watford 5th as, with all respect to Watford, I feel that their recent form gives us the best chance in the play-offs...

At the other end I kind of want Leicester to stay up (due to Holloway's Bristol connection, even if he was a Rovers player) and Wednesday to stay up (for reasons completely unknown to myself I supported them as a kid). Ideally I'd like Blackpool to stay up too on account of being underdogs. So by process of elimination I suppose it comes down to Saints or Coventry for me. I've probably got more affection for Saints than I have for Coventry...

i should really hate the fact that stoke are gonna go up...but fuck it, good luck to 'em. its gonna be funny/weird watching them in the premiership next year...

or if southampton fail to win. (there's other permutations involving leicester of course)

Thus putting Stoke, City, Watford and Place in the play-offs.

City seem back on form and might conceivably beat Watford.

Stoke would be so crushed by losing promotion they'd be out of form for play-offs.

A play-off final v Palace'd be tough but we could fluke it in a way we might not over two legs...

i'm pleased leicester have gone down. big LOL @ holloway.

But, on balance, I'd probably say West Brom and Stoke are the two teams that have deserved it the most and I wish 'em all the best next season.

Biased though I am, I think it's probably the right 4 teams in the play-offs too. Hull and Palace have been great in recent months and City and Watford were involved with the automatic tussle for too long for it to have been fair on 'em to miss out.

At the bottom Scunthorpe and Colchester were obviously the two weakest sides. Not sure if Leicester deserved to be third bottom. I mean of course they did 'cos they got less points than everyone else but none of the five teams down there could have felt hard done-by if it had been them...
