Ask him what WABA stands for

You'll get hell of chuckles

Seriously

ask him that

:D

Iw ouldn't expect you to ask this one.

"Have you ever killed anyone?"

*I wouldn't

ask him his top 5 kung fu films

ask his favourite kung fu soundtrack as well. They're all meant to be massive Kung Fu nerds so he'll probably appreciate the question.

ask him...

in a chess game if he opened on white e4 and black responded with e5 would he then go f4 in what's known as the "king's gambit"? apparently he loves his chess.

RZA did a Q&A in Manchester last night

he's a very interesting chap, really smart - it seemed as though the interviewer could ask him anything and he'd happily go on for about 5 minutes, even if the question was terrible. So I wouldn't get too nervous! Just ask him about the early days and how he built up the Wu-Tang brand, and also why he has his Bobby Digital persona and you'll get more than enough material for an interview.

On another note - he played after the interview last night and he was incredible, except for the end of the set where all the red wine he'd been swigging clearly went to his head and he could barely talk.

this was absolutely amazing!

I had such a good time last night. An audience with the RZA was so great, I'm struggling to remember all the hilarious stuff he came out with, but here's some of it:

* Wu-tang Clan single handedly made Asian women sexy!

* Wisdom means making your dome wise

* He can give you 10,000 years of history on any given subject just like that, because he's studied it all

* He's into next-level metaphors, much like Korn's very own ADIDAS

I need help remembering the rest. He was really eloquent though, very interesting to listen to. All the stuff about his reaction to poppy hip hop at the turn of the 90's and how he realised the label didn't really care for him was fascinating.

The gig itself was fantastic too. I missed Rustie because of the talk, but Flying Lotus was ace and so was Bobby, though as my friend said at times it kind of became Wu-tang karaoke which was a bit strange. Also, what was with all those dancing girls on stage at the end?! I laughed hard at how little of his wine he was willing to give them!

Yeah, I had to leave when those girls got on stage

I was worried it'd go a bit Johnny Vegas up there. Especially when that MC on the right actually went into the crowd to try and bag that photographe girl!

But yeah, the talk was ace - when he spoke about how he signed Wu-Tang members up to four different labels so that he'd have four working for him and the Wu-Tang brand, I couldn't help but giggle out of total admiration.

Oh I just remembered

what he started saying about his 'big idea' to get people to buy physical albums again: Visuals to go with music..like a music video! But on a disc! I was cracking up to that one so much. Its called a DVD pal, you've probably seen them! When he kept on saying it'd work because cars have tv's in the back of their seats in America..so, so funny.

Yeah it went a bit gross with the girls on stage, I'm glad that was at the end. Him going into fine detail about exactly how much MF Doom makes each year, and how everything he himself seemed to be involved with/own costs $2 million. Fantastic! What a fascinating guy, I enjoyed it so much.

:D

MVDs!

I've just remembered his speech

about maths and language, and how it's like, 1, 2, 3 - 1 is Knowledge, because you have to KNOW before you can have Wisdom, which is number 2, and means being wise in your dome, and it's only when you've got Knowledge and Wisdom that you can tell other people and spread Understanding - which is 3, because you add Knowledge which is 1 and Wisdom which is 2 and you get 3.

Ask him...

"Whatever happened to the Bobby Digital movie?"

and...

"Is it true that a flood in your basement destroyed all the tapes to Method Man's 'Tical' when you were recording it and you had to start again from scratch, hence the lo-fi sound quality?"

Saw his Q&A in Glasgow....

and it was brilliant.
Tis a pity they stopped him after 30mins or so as you could listen to him all day.
Clearly very intelligent, self-deprecating, informed, enthusiatic and a real thirst for knowledge of music.
I do hope he comes back soon!

.

the bobby digital movie was completed (some close wu associates have seen it) but never releasd because they couldnt get a distributor

and

the flood was in 1996. so yes, he had a flood which took out a bunch of stuff. but it was after tical and so had nothing to do with that and little to do with the sound of subsequent records

That bit was incredible!

It would be great to hang around with him for the day and chat. I wonder just how much weed he smokes?

*broccoli

:D :D

The guy in the white cap who basically said to him "Can you listen to my demo please" was sat in the seat in front of me, that was pretty lolsome. Go digital! Getting caught selling on the streets? Go digital! Need to go to the toilet? Go digital!

usa_nails

Doesn't he mean the video is on the actual disc physically? Surely you are smart enough to realise that he must realise what a DVD is.

Miss T.H.A.N.G

That Ho Ain’t No Good. The thing about how he is responsible for making Asian women sexy cracked me up so bad and remember its beauty not booty!

Ha ha!

I'm pretty much going to memorise all of that. WABA 4 Life! Right, I'm gonna go put some jelly on my bread..because I can't say gun.

Yeah

that was so good when he was just reeling off different words he has used to represent guns, jelly on my bread meant big bullets in the gun. Also when it went Wu-karaoke which one of GZA’s songs did he do off Liquid Swords?

I can't remember which track it was

that he did off Liquid Swords now. I also got a covered in a lot more flying beer than I thought I would do too.

Ask him where in the fuck Cuban Linx II is

Although seeing as himself and Rae have their disagreements, he may not ahave a clue either.

.

Ask if he took any positives from the infamous flood in his basement.

Ask him who the most badass Wu Tang

member is i.e who could have everyone else in a scrap?

haha

I'm annoyed at myself for not going to see him now.

He is pretty hilarious. Wu-Tang are the best pissedhead rappers ever as well.
