'I told her on Alderaan' by Neon Neon.
I'm not a huge fan of the rest of their stuff (although I do like it), but this track is perfection.
You can hear it here:
It's like the best song the 1980s never produced, it's not done in a crap 'ironic' way, and it features Gruff Rhys. Anything with Gruff is great by default.
its awesome
Dream Girls, Raquel and I Lust You are all uber-ace too and well worth a listen if you need more 80s euphoria.
good
but no.
next.
I heard their album yesterday...
for the first time and thought it was utterly dreadful!
Is this one of these albums you have to give a good few listens to before you get it?
it's pretty good. But best song of the millennium??
it's no 'Shakespeare's (Way With) Words'
radio
I've heard it so many times on the radio and I'm still not sure if I like it enough to check out their other songs..
Two:
1) Wilco - I Am Trying To Break Your Heart
Enough said. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is arguably the best album of the decade, and this song blows me away every single time.
2) LCD Soundsystems - All Your Friends
I'm welling up just thinking about this song. It's so... so perfect. I don't even know how to describe it.
Add to this list:
3) Elbow - Mirrorball
no no no
It's nice but just no.
no.
