Nice record labels being nice

Yesterday I got a Dirty Projectors CD I ordered from States Rights Records in the US and in the package they'd put a free copy of their 2 CD label compilation album. For free.
I emailed them to check and they said it was a gift for ordering from them. For free.
I'm charmed.

Any similar examples of nice label people?

Nope?

polyvinyl

sweets, stickers, compilations.

Love it

polyvinyl rule

loads of freebies, mp3s etc, cheap as fuck - and plus they lie on the declaration thingy so you don't have to pay import tax <3

smekylsa (or however you spell it)

wrote me a nice little note after i ordered a couple of cds a few years back.

As did Alien8 Records.

Made me feel like i was in Werther's Original ad it did.

I ordered a Tshirt and CD from Ace Fu records,

and they posted it for FREE from America.
AND the Tshirt and CD only came to $20.

thats just slightly foolish

how will they survive?

constellation

you get a hand written thankyou note from the record label boss when you order

asthmatic kitty... got a free copy of the avalanche when I bought a hoody a while back... and sometimes sufjans dad writes thank you notes

i also got a compilation cd

and a thank you note from absolutely kosher.
and maoam sweets from norman records.
these kinds of things make me feel warm inside :)

transgressive sent me a free shins vinyl 7 inch. that was nice

along with badges and stickers. god bless record labels.

City Centre Offices

They put me up in Berlin when I was over there for a weekend. Went home with so many freebies in my suitcase that even Terminal 5 couldn't lose it.

Not a label really

but Banquet Records always send me some lovely stuff like badges and that.

Magic Bullet gave me some free stickers, badges

a Cave In 7" and an EP of some sorts recently. And Jealous gave me a free Held By Hands badge

In At The Deep End

Gallow's old label gave me a free compilation when i bought their album
That was prety sweet

Bad Taste Records

When Log released their first album I couldn't get it anywhere.
I emailed the record company and they were mightily helpful and waited an age for me to sort out payment in the days before paypal.
They also included stickers and singles etc.
Generally a fantastically nice bunch.

Swami Records

gave me a free turntable slipmat with a cool soothsayer guy on when I ordered the last Hot Snakes album.

Sub Pop keep me well stocked in free badges and stickers.

God bless Mark Arm.

Simon Williams once sent me a hand written note when I ordered something from Fierce Panda and the record I wanted was sold out. The note included the word 'spaffing'. Winner.

Domino

used to send an absolute treasure trove of flyers, stickers, badges and the like. i haven't ordered owt from them in a while though, so i'm not sure if they still do that.
in fact once they sent so much franz/ artics stuff that i managed to sell it on ebay...

oh, and saddle creek do the same- including a nice little handwritten note, which was nice...

here is free tings

i once

said something gushing about a Wrens gig on this site. The record company used the quote on one of their tour posters, and then sent me a couple of free posters and offered me a free drink with them anytime I'm in London. I haven't taken them up on that yet, but it's really nice all the same.

.

jonson family..ordered a charlottefield record which didn't arrive (got lost in the post or summat), so they sent a replacement one simple as, no questions asked. pretty awesome

happy release

who're some little london micro-label, send me free stuff sometimes. yay

most independent labels do this i find

except Kranky. its still nice though.

a note from Must Destroy

saying something like "If we knew you lived so nearby, we would've saved you the postage and delivered it by hand!"
That amused me.
