i make music under the name "triplets", mostly just for fun, as a lot of it is fairly abrasive and weird (i think) and i don't put as much work in to it being "perfect" as i do with my "day job" band.
however, i've also written some lo-fi indie pop-ish songs (see "school anthem" and my cover of "gigantic" by pixies) as well as some intrumental acoustic meanderings ("little rabbit with little levers"). moreover, there is also more stuff i have yet to record which sounds like less harsh versions of "einsperren" (all this stuff is on www.myspace.com/tripletsmusic).
i really would welcome any criticism, positive or negative, about my music, but also - my question is, is it somehow wrong to release all these different kinds of music under one name? should one single artist broadly have "a style"? bands like green day created whole new identities for material that differed from their norm. why?
(sorry if this thread seems a bit plug-gy, but i'm not selling anything! i don't even have any gigs! and i'm genuinely interested in the topic at hand.)
help me with my music/musical schizophrenia
