tickets sold! Oh deary me! I feel sorry for them!

lol

rofl

lmao

im glad that has been cancelled

probably the worst festival line up i have ever seen. I actually shuddered when i saw the Others listed on there.

No, just a thought.

I've only heard Raging Speedhorn out of the bands that were metioned and they're shit.

^not true

raging speedhorn are THE shit :)

i thought they were from derby?

is derby near kettering?im so ignorant when it comes to geography

Thumbs DOWN

Not only are Raging Speedhorn pants, they are also wankers.

i have heard this before

why are they wankers?someone once said they were racist i think.come on examples!

They asked me and my friend if we liked Raging Speedhorn

We said no, so they walked off, then called us wankers at a later point. I did point out that the only good thing to come out of Corby was the trouser press...

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.

They're actually from Corby in Northamptonshire. Half a point to GalacticStar3ruption for saying Kettering, which is kind of near to Corby.

corby

i knew it was something "...by" and i knew it had an R in it.im still ignorant though

they're from corby?

IM FROM CORBY
it's a small small world and I have a verrrry small mind

I'm from Corby too.

Galactic- where abouts do you live?

And where is the legendary bus-stop?

Jesus

I thought I was the only one!

Rothwell

It was the bus-stop on the way to Desborough, near the pathway, that goes through that green, nearest the school (you'll know what I mean, I'm sure)

There are people form Northamptonshire on this site after all. Where you all been hiding.

Yes I know where you mean.

Perhaps I know the girl you were longing after. Happy days.

Perhaps I AM the girl you were longing after. This is quite unlikely.

weren't you the one

that got angry when i said no one here's english?

Yep that's me!

We need to have a Northants DiS Meet! lol

Shit. JAG were playing on the saturday too!

It must feel awful being the organiser and having to pull it though.

What a terrible line up

What were they thinking by allocating 9,000 tickets for such a poor line up?

Great Escape for example only has 6,500 tickets & isn't ATP around the same?

I'm just shocked that

Lightspeed Champion wasnt playing this one.

Cancelling any gig

is horrible

But what were the organisers thinking??

I thing an accquaintance of

mine was playing this.

Seems festivals just arent popular this year.

Perhaps the festival bubble is finally bursting.

Or perhaps people should have realised that there was never going to be ANY demand for an event with that kind of line-up.

ROFL

Rock is dead......

Interesting

Lots of bands from my area were meant to be playing. Expecting 9000 people to buy a ticket for a festival like that is quite shocking.

...

I think the problem with this is not merely that all the bands were wack, but that they don't really know what demographic they're aiming for?

I mean, is there anyone who likes both Koopa and Raging Speedhorn?

haha,

its like 5 fans per band and then gf's/bf's of organisers, anyone know what tickets where priced at?

me! !!!! !!!!

i love both KOOPA and RAGING SPEEDHORN!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!

Serves the fuckers right

for having 'flow models'. Odious.

Why? That's how most large events are run

You book the big names then announce it, then use the money from the initial sales to fund more bands and further promotion, unless you think all events should be run by people who can afford it from the off

No.

At the risk of being labelled a cantankerous old bastard, I guess I just don't particularly like large events or business jargon.

ah

so thats why twentysixfeet never played to more than 30 people. lolzzz

30 is a bit of an overestimate.

See now there you'd be exceeding your flow models;~)

don't laugh

i feel sorry for them...they had ads all over NME.com etc, which means they must have lost LOTS of money.

there's so many small festival launching this year that seem to think it's pretty easy to pack people into a field. sadly it's not that easy and it can cost a lot of money.

hope no-one's lost a house over it, although rumour has it it's the guy who runs bug jam, which seems to do very well each summer...

All you naysayers and cynics ...

... should remember that without people prepared to take the financial risk of putting on gigs involving up and coming bands, there wouldn't be any live music at all apart from going to see established bands.

I dunno, on the one hand all the big sponsored festivals like Glasonbury, Reading/ Leeds, V and so on are slagged off for sporting identical lineups, then OTOH, these guys get sniggered at by cynical idiots for trying to stage something different. Okay, they got it wrong, but at least they tried.

its only different

in that its not got any good bands.

The organisers must have been slightly deluded

to think that they could sell 9000 tickets for this event. The line up consists of smaller, unsigned acts and a few bigger bands, most of which have been and gone. You have to be realistic about these things if you're going to invest so much money into an event of this size. The organisers of Truck obviously have the right idea.

HAHAHAH

Good. What the UK doesn't need is more crappy festivals.

aren;t these the jokers

who were on dragon's den - originally doing a festival in cornwall in 2007 then a bigger one this year? they were bloody useless and annoying, so if it is them:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HA.

.

No, that's this lot: www.beachbreaklive.com

Alas, they still appear to be in business.

oh

gutted. perhaps they will be the next to go...

Every last act which was scheduled to play earned their place on the bill by virtue of their sheer q

Ahahaha.

We are bitterly disappointed that we have failed either to reach or to sufficiently enthuse the general public with our vision for the festival.

Double Ahahaha.

I don;t feel sorry for them.

This is what happen's when you put on a shed load of bands no one even knows. Look at the line up. I mean come on 9000 people or whatever they said gonna watch these?

http://www.ents24.com/web/group/1479794/MyFest.html

It's like me hiring a field and putting on a load of my mates bands.

I've heard of a max of about 6 of those bands

Not being harsh to the organisers, but £50 for a festival where most of the bands are local/unknown?

My word

...Get Koopa and Raging Speedhorn to headline a fest, then predict 9000 ticket sales?

err?

Im sure

Koopa's moms must have downloaded all those songs to get them into the charts. No one in their right mind would otherwise.

My Passion

LOLZ

the announcement

made me feel so sorry for them, and I usually hate festival organizers (Field Day, 'allo??)

oh dear

that's quite sad really. sad that the organisers of this were so deluded as to think people would actually buy tickets. christ

I wouldnt laugh at them

but it does seem they were fooled into thinking that a lot of these bands are bigger than they are.

Koopa

PMSL.

I'd never even heard of this festival so they cant have been doing that much marketing.

urm

surely alarm bells should have gone off about three months ago at poor ticket sales?? Less than a month to go and only 87 tickets sold out of 9000. Did they think there was going to be a last minute stampede to see such delightful acts as Koopa???

ROFLCOPTER!

Yeah, serves them right for having Koopa.

Yeah me too.

And at least they had the balls to admit that it was pretty much a failure.

But the line-up.... Gosh. It's funny how some of the bandnames kind of look like bands you've heard of. It's as if Lidl made a festival.
