(wait for the vocals!)

Bonus points if the video is actually in a school hall.

Is it wrong that I actually enjoyed both of these performances?

It's something about the French accent that just makes all of them, from Serge Gainsbourg to The Teenagers, exasperatingly cool. I think this lot could have some sort of career, perhaps as the French equivalent to Art Brut. We should start a campaign to get them signed up and over here.

...

I Love

how they still have there school uniforms on ^_^

awesome!

This one is amazing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heXpieVxg60

Shit!

I went to that school.

I was in the Eisteddfod too. We did dEUS's Suds And Soda and won! Hooray!

This was back in 1998 though

So no video.

I had great fun shouting Friday many times at a school full of people.

yeah they played my prom i think :/

and ruined it.

played club foot and when the sun goes down. ughhh.

my booing didnt go down well.

I hadn't!

Hello, new ringtone.

Unfortunately I dont have a video of it

but a band at my school played a cover of 'Rape Me' in front of parents and teachers alike. Unfortunately I was a little young to appreciate the lack of taste displayed. If anyone does have a video of that then nows your chance.

oh!

I have one at home of me and my friends doing a cover of "The New You" by The Vandals at the school talent show when we were 15. Two of my strings broke about 20 seconds into the song and the other guitarist messed up a bit where he was supposed to stand on two chairs for the solo bit and ended up flat on his face. Oh yeah and the microphone for the our vocalist wasnt working. I think all you can hear is laughter.

Cringe!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coN2eycH_0c

that first one is the worst video on youtube, just a heads up.

Jinx

The best bit is when he jumps off the boat and has clearly hurt himself.

I love the trumpeter in the second one.

This thread is making me LOL all over the place.

I played in a band who did

For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica for a GCSE performance night.

Awesome times. The video is just on VHS though sadly.

Well

the audience seems to love it anyway.

Lol

the devo one is awesome!

meandthatarmy wins!

the song I've seen covered the most

at french "fĂȘte de la musique" nearly every year...

They're too old

they should know better! Also, it isn't that bad, it's got a simple charm about it.

Sadly

I don't think there's a video of some kids at the school where I'm teaching playing it ( and other classics... )

Someone underneath that video has written:

"The best live metal band in the Isle of Man".

That's actually the funniest thing I've ever read.

I'm just glad

that YouTube wasn't invented when I was 15 and in a band.

these are all 'awesome'

thanks for teh lolz
ps. more pls

another Rage cover...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ly1flTtgaQI

Cut short by a very convenient fire alarm...

honestly

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcYTVts4bnU&feature=user

not a cover but...

this will make you laugh till your balls fall off, check out such brilliance as the bassist sitting down in a field

apparently they think they're really metal, and you can see it

I youtube searched my school.

Hoping to see videos of this all day annual rock gig we had, instead I found hundred of videos of people I vaguely know acting like idiots in school.

God I hated my school.

But the video of it being knocked down cheered me up a bit.

best. topic. ever.

that is all...

my old school band

performed nirvana's Spank Thru at a talent show full of parents and teachers. I introduced it as a song about masturbation. They werent pleased.

bump!

:)

This thread reminds me

Tori Amos once covered Chas & Dave's That's What I Like Mick without changing any of the British references.

A group of seventh graders then covered Tori Amos' version as an a capella.

Turmoil.

so glad someone bumped this

it has provided major LOL's.
