There is none

Antarctica Takes It

their album 'The Penguin League' was out last in Feb on the How Does It Feel To Be Loveed label.

oh and....

I'm afraid this is a JAG

but it's only my second in 1000+ board posts so...

Slow Club

The Wave Pictures

They're pretty much all I listen to lately, and certainly the only bands I've bothered to see since I've been back from uni.

i'll also second.....

the reccomendation of The Wave Pictures. Saw them in London at the weekend and they're quite brilliant.

For more slight tweeness then also see Darren Hayman and the Secondary Modern.

Although ironically

Darren Hayman and Dave Tattersall from the Wave Pictures' band Hayman Watkins Trout & Lee isn't twee at all.

its certainly not,

its bluegrass

sorry

shrag are awful..i know i usually agree with you but...eugh

Oh, I like them lots.

But-twee? Most definitely not!

I did keep them in the list, didn't I?

The School, I should have mentioned, although I now see someone else has (Wales' Camera Obscura, essentially) and Liz's other band The Loves. Slow Down Tallahassee too.

^this^

saw them at ladyfest last year and they were less than great. The only thing twee about them was possibly the way the dressed...

Lucksmiths

by far my fav twee.

for b and s school of twee indie pop

theres the young republic

then theres bis school of twee like
bearsuit
los campesionos....they are twee tastic

Yes! Bearsuit!

Most definitely.

Though I'd describe them as being closer to B&S than Bis. Kind of like B&S in a hair pulling match with Sonic Youth, with Damon Albarn umpiring.

Why recent ?

Go for old twee, like Heavenly, Tullycraft...
And go download The Groovy Little Numbers here :

For things more recent, why not the Rosie Taylor Project and Saint Jude's Infirmary ?

sodastream

are good ;)

* were *

touche

(saw them on final tour - was great)

Strange Idols.

Stuff like that.

:)

Definately

You should grab yourself 'The Kids At The Club - An Indiepop Compilation'. Has Strange Idols, Fanfarlo, Pocketbooks, Butcher Boy ... a lovely album. Wait here while I find you the link...

math are really brilliant

i don't know if they are 'twee' but they sound like 'fingers crossed' era architecture in helsinki gone a bit weird.
ooh apparntly they're called math the band now. great though
http://www.myspace.com/maththeband

let's see

camera obscura
the magnetic fields
the ladybug transistor
ipso facto
strange idols
jens lekman[twee?]
herman dune
i'm from barcelona
the bobby mcgees
suburban kids with biblical names

stuff like that

I'd say

Jens is more twee than ipso facto and magnetic fields,,,

California Snow Story

Twee pop at its best - California Snow Story (the other 'CSS'!)

http://www.myspace.com/californiasnowstory

Their album 'Close To The Ocean' is out on Letterbox - www.letterboxrecords.com

You can download their single for free from their label.

TWEE AS FUCK

If you use Soulseek or something, I dunno it may be on the Torrent networks... there's a compilation called Twee As Fuck, which has a lot of good stuff on it.

it's doesn't get much more twee than this..

if it's nursery-rhyme-folk you're after:
