The first line-up details have been announced for this year’s Field Day event in east London, for which DrownedinSound is proud to be an official media partner.

Here’s who’ll be among those appearing on the 9th of August:

Foals
Fionn Regan
Of Montreal
Simian Mobile Disco
Richie Hawtin
Mystery Jets
(pictured)
Lightspeed Champion
White Lies
Huw Stephens
King Creosote
Dirty Projectors
Tunng
Eat Your Own Ears DJ’s
Brodinski
Jeffrey Lewis
Crookers
Mechanical Bride
Dan Deacon
Magistrates
The Notwist
James Holden
Emperor Machine
The Field
One Little Plane
Filthy Dukes
Bloggers Delight

Despite boasting a similarly fine line-up, last year’s Field Day was plagued by discontent voiced at the facilities at Victoria Park. Returning to the site again this year, organisers Eat Your Own Ears have been working with a production team – the one behind the recent launch event for Liverpool Capital of Culture – in an effort to address those concerns.

I.E. there will be a significant increase in toilets, urinals and bars and the site is being redesigned in order to improve the sound levels.

Tickets are on sale now from SeeTickets.com at a price of £26.50 plus booking fee; while a documentary focusing on last year’s event, the first Field Day, will air at midnight on Channel 4 next Friday, the 4th of April.

They needed the line up to tempt my back

And they've earnt their second chance

YES THEY HAVE!!!

of mon, SMD, and notwist alone is greatness!

gosh

that's a pretty good lineup.

I need to see of Montreal desperately.

If they aren't at Reading/Leeds or tour soon, I will die.

holy fuck yes

I'm glad I bought my ticket when I did.

We're not playing Reading or Leeds

and I'm pretty sure we're not playing British club dates until September. Sorry about that. Might be a handful of dates scattered across Europe to come, but I wouldn't hold out for it.

So go to Field Day

x

Think I'll go this year

Looks pretty good for 26 pounds

so far the line up doesnt impress me much

Besides Jeffrey Lewis and Of Montreal the rest i have either seen before or am not that fussed on seeing.

That documentary next week will be an interesting watch though.

i thought

the sound restrictions last year were a council issue. or were they just lying about that? i'm off to tapestry to have an amazing time AGAIN

It's a pretty good line-up...

...but I too will be off to Tapestry this year.

Tapestry for me too

you can't a bit of medieval

beat

^

hmmm

of montreal
dirty projectors
jeff lewis
dan deacon
notwist

pretty gooooood.

will be interested to

see that documentary!

Mystery Jest

Can't you tell from the jet of mystery?

I'm probably going to go

if only to see Dan Deacon and Of Montreal.

tickets slightly cheaper from...

ticketweb

see ticket charges seem a bit silly really

yeah man i'd tap that

probably will

I don't care what they say

there's no fucking way I'm going to that, ever again.

same here...

if any other one-day festival had that line-up i'd buy a ticket in a second but there's no way i'm gonna subject myself to this even if if they've doubled the bar size and number of toilets.

so only a 30-40 min queue for a drink or the bog. wow!

last years was worse than the V festival.

hopefully the field will play some other dates whilst he's over here.

i don't get dan deacon

i don't get it at all.

He's got a rattlesnake gun

And he hates them bees

You're insane

if you think I'm going to bother with that again.

I am a bit weary too

but chances are last years fuck up wont happen again.

how guted will you be if it is an overwhelming success story costing only £26 and you missed it?

I'm gonna book mine tonight.

I couldn't care less really

I can see the bands I want to see in better venues or have seen them before.

If reports are great then I'll go back next year but I shan't hold my breath.

Hear hear

I'm sure they'll sort out the bars and toilets (not rocket science) but need more convincing that the sound will be adequate. Would be interested to know if the capacity is same or greater than last year.

I'm there!

Had a great time last year and the lineups well worth £30 so I've no problem.

It...

does look good so i think I will forgive last year's problems and give it another go!

can't wait to see of montreal again

jeff lewis and the notwist

have sold it for me

after last year..

they're clearly going to MAKE DOUBLE-TREBLE-QUADRUPLE SURE there aren't similar problems this time. Don't be so stubborn people! What a line up!

my tummy is doing weird flippy things that say...

.... wow, what a line up.

I think.

Is it wrong to be excited so soon?

great lineup but will they make the necessary improvements??!

I enjoyed the lineup last year, sound restrictions ruined it all - whatz the news on this issue? is there a better licence negotiated?!

also i missed one of my fave bands as the listings were not announced, u had to buy the £3 or so book before and I was too late

glad i'm a guy as hellish with those crazy toilet queues

more bars? or people walking around with beer rucksacks? u know those ones u get at rugby and cricket?!

i'm hoping they won't make the same mistake twice.

Which band did you miss?
I was a mug and bought the booklet, you did get a smart badge and sticker too ;).

the toilets were vile even if you did end up queueing for them, overflowing and the like, eugh.

and the beer carriers, although a fine idea, were awful - i lost 3 pints.
