Dolly Parton is among the latest set of acts to sign-up for this year’s South by South West festival in Austin, Texas.
The country star will head to the BMI showcase somewhere between the 12th and the 16th of March. Others joining those previously announced - including REM, the Kills, Jens Lekman and These New Puritans - are listed below:

There are already a few acts I'm looking forward to though I'll probably only end up catching Robyn and Tilly and the wall from the ones that are tempting me so far.

dolly parton is great, has written some fucking fantastic songs and is head and shoulders above most of the tuneless self indugent nonsense that gets written about on here.
DiS is so excited about the Black Crowes
they're listed twice. How they rose above the bar-band circuit is one of life's great mysteries.

Yeah that tiny list is somehow indicative of the entire gargantuan festival. There will never be a bad SXSW, geniuses. The reason is simple math. With over 1000 bands, there will always be something worth seeing. It's just a matter of researching and listening ahead of time.
