I faintly remember a time when you could talk about the Pigeon Detectives without automatically being met with scoffs of derision. 2005? I think so. Anyway, a lot’s changed since then – the band now dither at the very peripheries of our remit to cover new and interesting music. They will also play a 7,000 capacity homecoming show in Leeds next May. It seems Yorkshire cares not for our remit.
Before then though, there’s the small matter of a UK tour to get over and done with – the act, who release new single ‘I Found Out’ next Monday (12 Nov), play the following shows soon:
November
8 Wrexham Central Station
9 Bangor University
10 Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall
11 Keele University
13 Swansea University
14 Bristol Anson Rooms
15 Exeter Lemon Grove
16 Portsmouth Pyramids
17 Bournemouth Fire Station
19 Reading Hexagon
20 Oxford Zodiac
21 London Forum
22 London Forum
23 London Forum
27 Birmingham NIA
28 Glasgow Barrowlands
30 Doncaster Dome
December
1 Manchester MEN *
15 London Earls Court *
* = as support to Kaiser Chiefs
To be in that 7,000 strong hometown crowd, you’ll have to wait ‘til Monday (12 Nov) at 9am.

well i think
they're alright. i'm quite the critic don't you know.
Saw them in 2005 supporting Forward Russia (I think)
They weren't that bad live, although I can't say I listen to any of their stuff now.
There are still
quite a few people in Leeds/Yorkshire who think they're shit...me being one.
earls court ?
fucking hell
that must be supporting someone else shirley?
same with THREE nights at the Forum?
I think the forum is actually them.
I did sound for these guys at a gig a couple of years back. They sounded like lairy sub-libertines bullshit, and weren't even that good at it. Their rise to fame to makes absolutely no sense to me.
I really
am sick of this ladrock comeback.
dull dull dull
Their lead singer
is obviously inbread.
*INBRED
You get the idea, same goes for The Enemey's singer.
Well done
on correcting the spelling mistake in your previous post. :)
Then...
...managing to spell 'Enemy' wrong. I imagine members of said band are still making the same blunder.
NIA?!
I refuse to believe that they can fill the NIA. Fuck, the only band I've ever seen there was Coldplay back in the day, when they were mega-popular, and even that wasn't full.

Donny Dome, MEN... on the same tour as Keele University? WTF?
NIA
it's a kaisers support that one. the reason the band are playing places like Keele Uni and Donny Dome is to get to venues all over the UK not going for the mega bucks playing apollo, brixton etc just yet. the tour has also stopped at such places as Ulapool, Fort William, Skegness and Manchester Academy 1. You get the point....
I think
the donny dome gig is a charity event for the victims of the Toll Bar floods. I'm pretty ashamed at my home town that in the last two years the bands we've hosted have included the Feeling, Poalo Nutini, Kaiser Chiefs, the Eitors, McFly, Ronan Keating, Bryan Adams and now Elton John. Although we have had Maximo Park and i do confess to enjoying a bit of the Kooks and Piegon Detectives.
Very fun live actually
and some of their songs aren't bad at all.
this band
were always shite
