Apparently, those evil, evil creatures of music Cajun Dance Party cover Del Shannon's Runaway in their set.

I hate them. Die.

:O

Link!

it was on hype machine a while ago.

they missed out all the best bits. And I don't them. So BLAH to them.

Aww man

i have a soft spot for them, but seriously, what were they thinking

don't like*

I laughed alot.

But he stopped before it got to the interesting (difficult) bit. That would have got more laughs.

precisely why I don't like it

1. the guy doesn't do anything with it at all.
2. he misses out the last part - which in my opinion, is the most important/best part of the whole song
3. it's bland as fuck
4. I don't like Brand New

FRANKLY

Brand New > NMH

It just lacks all form of emotion

It wasn't altered it enough to be torturous, it just removed the whole grab of the song.

:'(

I wish this hadn't been brought to my attention.

Rilo Kiley covering Neutral Milk Hotel = <3, Jenny can wrap her voice around anything

Even

plastic explosives?

her penis?

theres a mountain goats cover

of two headed boy which is alright, he does just forget the words and stuff after a while though

i love covers where the words are wrong

Death Cab For Cutie's cover of this charming man is hilarious

"this man said it's crucial that someone so handsome could care"

^ this

I think it's really funny how terrible it is and how he gets the lyrics wrong. I actually enjoy listening to it even though I cringe every time I hear it. Especially the guitar/keyboard intro.

I don't actually know anything by Neutral Milk Hotel,

but I have this Brand New cover, and I thought as a song, it was quite good. So there!

That nu-metal band

doing Under Pressure. Grrrh!

MCR and The Used?

Or The Blood Brothers version?

The Blood Brothers version is awesome!

There should be a ban on covering NMH

it's like covering Love Will Tear Us Apart; speaking of which:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY7tSm7IlEI

Aw man...

As much as I love fall ouut boy... that cover is terrible

it sounds like he vomits the chorus

what about

the nouvelle vague cover? it's awesome

!

there are loads of good version of LWTUA.

Squarepusher, Moldy Peaches, Bis, Frank Sidebottom...

That literally made me cringe.

I could only take about 4 seconds after she started singing.

crazy town covering refused..

...or billy talent covering fugazi.

although both are more hilarious than anything else, crazy town's especially.

DENIED

yeah, found it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaVfz1r6tx0

everything about this is wrong.

Okay, that was a bit rubbish

But it also reminded me that I really want to see Billy Talent live.

I second the Crazy Town one

It's too sad to be hilarious.

...

Ronson covering The Smiths

:(

I really do not understand the capacities of the British public to buy the music of this leach-like creature.

pretty much his entire oevre

if it can be called that

*oeuvre

Yeah

Also, whichever band covered "how soon is now?" for the Charmed title music

That's awesome

Yeah, that's Love Spit Love

Richard Butler of Psych Furs fame... and it's good methinks.

That was

Snake river Conspiracy who covered "How Soon Is Now"

Why does everyone cover that one song?! It's so boring to me now!

The Twang doing Drinking in LA

I havent heard it but you just know its gonna be awful

t.A.t.U.

?:D

but

that's brilliant!

placebo doing 'where is my mind?'

i actually quite liked it

for shame

http://youtube.com/watch?v=gUNIZVpNH-0

the new Dirty Projectors record

is a monument to how to make me cry

i like 'rise above'

some of it is bad though. very bad.

it's just the smuggest, most hideously "ironic"

thing i've heard since Ben Folds covered Bitches Ain't Shit. But it isn't even slightly funny.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

i feel like i just bit into a turd.

i don't believe for a second he did it "from memory".

the song 'rise above' is nice, i wasn't really feeling the rest of it. 'gimmie gimmie gimmie is pretty much slaughtered.

but

its not meant to sound like the original at all. so NER TO YOU. NER!

The View

Up The Junction.
Witnessed on TV from Reading/Leeds can only be described as appalling. They obviously hadn’t read or understood the lyrics (unsurprisingly) from what is a pretty simply story. Dreadful. I’m still wincing in embarrassment whenever I recall it. Not to over egg the pudding, I’ve heard some truly awful covers in my time, this was the worst ever.

Razorshite

covering the Cure's "boy's dont cry"

P Diddley

Not really a cover but, sampling Kashmir on the song to that film (the names escapes me & so does the name of the song)
But wrong... and shame on Jimmy Page for appearing in the video.
SHAME ON YOU BOTH.

Godzilla

'Come With Me'

:)

^ Thanks. Yeah, that one.

Wrong, and Shame in Abundance.

I heard Nightmare Of You

doing Up The Junction once, it was really good actually. Wish I could find it again.

Lost Prophets covering RFTC's On a Rope

:((((((((((((((((

I don't hate Diana Ross

But I still think her version of 'Heatwave' was about the worst cover ever.

.

I thought I couldn't hate Feeder any more than I already did for being one of the shittest bands ever to get popular, but when they covered Cant Stand Losing You...words cant express the rage I felt and still do feel towards them.

talking of 'Amazing' bands

take a look at this blog, it is well funny!!
http://simplythebestbands.wordpress.com/
you will just 'love' the first band on there!!!
usa_nails: it might help with the rage as well! ;)
