Artists: Modest Mouse

US indie heroes Modest Mouse have announced two UK dates following on from their appearance at the Connect Festival in September.

The band, who now come with added Johnny Marr, will perform dates in Liverpool and London next month.

Expect plenty from their recent fifth album We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, which has currently racked up a whopping 1.6 million sales worldwide.

How’s this for a cracking pair? Of dates?

September

2 Liverpool Academy
3 London Forum

yes

I remember seeing ads for those ages ago

absolutely

lazy journalism. Obviously a press release sent out - as the DIS and NME stories are practically the same.

Here is the NME one:
US chart-toppers Modest Mouse have announced details of two UK shows.

The band, who feature former Smiths star Johnny Marr on guitar, will play Liverpool and London in September.

The set is likely to feature highlights from the band's fifth album, 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank', which topped the US charts in April, and has sold 1.6 million copies worldwide.

The dates are as follows:

Liverpool Academy (September 2)
London Forum (September 3)

Similar structure? Hmm! I suppose DIS wins with the added inclusion of Connect Festival, but both deserve slapped wrists for running the story when the news was announced about 2 months ago.

can we ban

the phrase "lazy journalism". or at least realise that saying "lazy journalism" is little more than lazy commenting. for shame, weak_lager!

weak_lager..

I'm curious what you want to be written? The information is there. Plus, it is not a critical piece, just a news piece. Hard news usually lacks flavour, but it does the job. You are complaining about nothing.

Never seen em' live

But I will next week in Liverpool. Looking forward to it.

...

my gripe is that it is very old news + I'm annoyed at the music press simply running a story because some PR company has sent them a message. any decent editor would expect their journalists to have run the story when first announced (2 months ago).

Oh well

At least it means they'll maybe get added to the DiS event listings and I'll maybe be able to find out who else is going.

i may be the minority

but i am very grateful for this news, i thought all the standing tickets were sold out, but apparently not, and now im going. mega excitement.

I may have to go to this

they were excellent at the Royal Albert Hall in May. What's the Forum like though? Either I've never been or it's so bad that my memory has erased it.

Port O'brien will support

on both these shows- great live....ill be going!

Supporting Malajube as well

So apparently I'm seeing them two days in a row... They'd better be fucking good.

well m ward

seems to think they are the best live band hes seen for a while.....and bright eyes has taken them on tour twice so there must be SOMETHING about them-new single is really good...
