Probably a bit of the beginning of the Pumpkins' set. That's what's putting me off going - if there were no clashes, there'd be plenty for me to do, but as it is, I'm worried I'd get bored. (Cue someone saying "But it's not about the music...!")
...and Hot Hot Heat have saved me from the 'do I go to bed early what with the Chilis and The View' dilemma. Although I forget who's on the Concrete Jungle/ dance stage that night...
its not worth going to see anyone else unless they are really special, as everyone seems pretty average in comparsion. we managed half an hour of the foo fighters before we gave up.
And I don't care that everyone I've mentioned them to seems to hate them, my main recommendation is From Autumn To Ashes because I saw them earlier this year and they were fucking brilliant live.
silversun pickups
are worth getting up early on saturday for. Crystal Castles are DEFINITELY worth seeing live in the dance arena.
smashing pumpkins
NEW BAND
...
Pete & the Pirates!
i was a cub scout
foals
battles
blood red shoes
tokyo police club
tokyo polic club are a bit meh
the hairy one is right on everything else though.
Also, you must must must see !!! in the dance tent. They're unbelievably good.
have you seen them live?
i don't think they've really 'got it' on record but i've really enjoyed them all 3 times i've seen them.
I've only heard recordings
was a bit bored. Are they something else live?
I was a cub scout
worst band ever.
um well not knowing what you like
i'd say you'd be a fool to miss these:
!!!
Turbonegro
Dwarves
Battles
Silversun Pickups
Crystal Castles
Hold Steady
also
Late of the Pier - 1st on radio 1 tent on sunday. very nice.
DWARVES?!!!
at reading! serious?
they're on
the concrete jungle stage at some point i think.
Except The Hold Steady are on at the same time as the Smashing Pumpkins
So maybe not so much.
and LCD Soundsystem I think
worst clash ever?
LCD Soundsystem clash with NIN
Probably a bit of the beginning of the Pumpkins' set. That's what's putting me off going - if there were no clashes, there'd be plenty for me to do, but as it is, I'm worried I'd get bored. (Cue someone saying "But it's not about the music...!")
That's Glastonbury
Reading is ALL about the music. And getting comically pissed
yes,
LCD and the Pumpkins is the worst clash in the history of clashes.
keep in mind the pumpkins are the pumpkins.
plus LCD are bigger than the last time the played so they'll be loads of new rave kids probably.
.
no, worst clash every was at glastonbury friday night.
bjork/hot chip/squarepusher/trentemoller/four tet
yeah. not good
I'm enjoying Crystal Castles.
Battles, Blood Red Shoes, already love them, which just makes you extra right.
Do I remember reading that !!! and Arcade Fire are probably on at the same time?
!!!>arcade fire
^
this
make sure you watch dinosaur jr
sorry if this is insulting your musical knowledge!
Having got You're Living All Over Me
I will be in attendance for their leeds set. With gusto.
i think when I saw them in brighton
they played every song off that (minus poledo), start choppin, the wagon, freakscene, let it ride, and about three new ones. Best set ever!
most bands sound awful with
the radio 1 tent rig at reading. dinosaur jr are going to sound AMAZING.
make sure to get to the front if you can!
I will be there
I'm gonna try and drag Dalkin with me as well. None of my mates like Dinosaur Jr or anything like that really.
you might want to
wear earplugs. 2nd loudest band i've ever seen. after josh t. pearson.
It's my own fault
for being too lazy to list the bands I'm already planning to see.
Don't worry though, I'm picking up helpful new names as well.
all these people have said
and Operator Please. They're teenagers from Australia (I think) and their song 'It's just a song about ping pong' is ace poppy girly punky shoutiness.
!!!
Tokyo Police Club (they are more then meh, ignore anyone else)
Battles
Foals
Hot Hot Heat
Blood Red Shoes
Late Of The Pier
o and I also like Little Ones ^_^
and for the love of God dont miss Gogol Bordello for they are one of the most entertaining live bands going, even if you don't like their albums
I'm sort of turned off of Late of the Pier
because I have a friend that's from where they're from. He says they're jerks. How can I go against a friend like that? Haha.
I'm really liking this Silversun Pickups song. I'm going through Myspaces as we speak.
late of the pier....retards
musically and socially these guys are retards. avoid.
grammatics
and working for a nuclear free city..
on the unsigned stage at some point..
That's Leeds is it not?
i'm an idiot
other than whats been said
Brakes and Datarock will be classic.
possibly the two funniest bands playing (after Gogol Bordello)
THE BRONXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Brakes and Arcade Fire for sure
...and Hot Hot Heat have saved me from the 'do I go to bed early what with the Chilis and The View' dilemma. Although I forget who's on the Concrete Jungle/ dance stage that night...
after the last arcade fire reading performance
its not worth going to see anyone else unless they are really special, as everyone seems pretty average in comparsion. we managed half an hour of the foo fighters before we gave up.
Frank Turner
Kubichek!
Maps
!!!
How much were tickets?
Anything over 10 pounds for that line-up and you've been robbed. What an uninspiring shit line-up.
I Was A Cub Scout
Brand New
Interpol
Battles
And I don't care that everyone I've mentioned them to seems to hate them, my main recommendation is From Autumn To Ashes because I saw them earlier this year and they were fucking brilliant live.
FRANK TURNER!! (ex million dead)
SPARTA!! (ex at the drive in)
