Artists: Rilo Kiley

More details have emerged of Rilo Kiley's long-awaited return to the popular music arena.

As previously announced here, the follow-up to 2004's More Adventurous will be known as Under The Blacklight. The tracklisting for said album can be found below:

'Silver Lining'
'Close Call'
'The Moneymaker'
'Breakin' Up'
'Under The Blacklight'
'Dreamworld'
'Dejalo'
'15'
'Smoke Detector'
'The Angels Hung Around'
'Give A Little Love'

DiScuss: You'll be able to listen to these songs legally after August 21st. Does the publishing of tracklistings whet your appetite more for an album that is sure to leak before the release date anyway? Are these news stories just handy tools for illegal downloaders? How much can song names like those above really imply about their parent record?

It probably does encourage downloading

It seems ridiculous publishinh the track listing that far in advance. Why do so, I can't see any real gain also why not release it sooner as it must be in a finished state now, how long can it take for artwork etc, this is something that I often find irritating.

However surely the most stupid move is to have a tour before an album comes out (after has been finalised) eg white stripes, bloc party. This is virtually begging people to illegally download your album.

Yes!

Exciting stuff.

I check Rilokiley.net every day...

Nice to see it's not just lots of stuff that Jenny's been playing recently, hopefully she'll do a second solo record with that...

No new version of Pull Me In Tighter, which is a shame, that's one of my favoiurites of theirs.

Ah well, I can feel all superior and gain indie points with the rare radio session version.

i cannot wait for this album

although its hip hop production could either mean good news or bad or could be one funny rumor.
I'm counting the days.

I hope that

'Give a Little Love' is a cover of the Bugsy Malone song.

ha

that'd be ace
can't wait for this album
but by posting tracklistings and all the websites going on about it for ages beforehand does make it tempting for people to get leaked versions of it

i mean websites confirmed the name of the album over a month ago, and when they're one of your fave bands it is very hard to wait until the album does officially drop.

however i don't download and i'll only get songs if they're posted on mp3 blogs.. i like buying cds still.

so cynical...

I like to look at tracklistings for forthcomign albums to see if I recognise anything from what bands have been playing on tour. Never thought of it as an aide-download.

im actually

surprisingly unexcited about this album.

i was so excited by the last one, i bought it on import. I think it's that jenny lewis solo album that's put me off...

I thought that was great...

...I dig the whole country thing though.

I'm looking forward to this.
