I LOVE TODD
(that last album was terrible tho)

^

true facts all

i don't think much of the prog band he was in

utopia? or something
crazy todd

i havent heard them actually

would like to hear some stuff. The Nazz were really good tho

Yay for Todd Rundgren

He did fantastic pop like Runt:The Ballad of Todd Rundgren and also did some fantastic prog work like A Wizard a True Star. My favourite stuff of his has to be with Utopia though.

no wai!

Todd = :D
Naz = :)
Utopia = :|
i haven't heard much utopia tho

I only have

A Wizard, A True Star of which I think the first half is brilliant, the second half is boring.

And is Liv Tyler his daughter?

no

but he basically looked after her and was her de-facto father when she was a child and teenager, that is until wankface from aerosmith decided that he wanted to take some responsibility.
todd = one of the nicest people in rock from what i've read.

wow actually

i just read that he apparently was told she was his daughter until she was 9. ouch.

he's also of course produced ace albums for as produced albums for Sparks, New York Dolls, Patti Smith, The Tubes, XTC, Bad Religion, Cheap Trick, The Psychedelic Furs and lots of others

sorry.

that did make sense before i started typing

he's very overproductive

but when he gets it right he gets it so right. try downloading some of those songs listed in my first post!

Didn't he play

a hand in Bat Out of Hell?

yup on the production side

and its a pretty amazingly produced record, the best production copy i've heard (obviously nicking the springsteen born to run wallasound) but then i guess springers was only stealing from spector so its all fair game

also

he was clever enough to get roy bittan from the e street band to play piano on it. lolz.

is that story about pet sounds true?

that when everyone was raving about the production on it and stuff, he went into his studio and remade it exactly as the beach boys one sounds.
just to show off that he was such a productionclever clogs?
is that true or have i imagined it?

sounds familiar

and sounds like something he might do

I love him

for producing the NY Dolls - not sure 'bout his music though, although I haven't heard a lot of it

he did an album

where every single sound was made using his voice, about 10-15 years before the bjorkster. tis quite good actually!

Name?

Sounds intriguing

I'll buy it

if you tell me what 'bf' stands for.

P.S Greatest cover ever

breastfuck

dis user grockle's protest at having to put a subject line.

Finally!

Wisdom

i didn't know that

does it all sound like
'there are no words'
cos that is an amazing bit of music

its really varied

some of it is mega poppy and he's doing a four piece rock and roll band, other bits are mega layered like 'no words'. worth a download fo sho.

interesting TOdd facts

He has three sons, Rex, Randy and Rebop Rundgren.
Todd also composed and recorded theme music for the American pilot for cult UK sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf. It was never aired.
kewl

bf

"todd = one of the nicest people in rock from what i've read"

I dont' think so...99.9999% of bands he's worked with think he's a total arsehole! His music is brilliant though... utopia get undeservedly bad press though.

The songs are still there, the production is eighties. i can live with that. I doubt it would recieve quite the critical mauling it does if it wasn't for the fact its got a different name to his other stuff...

Nazz rule...my favourite track is 'forget all about it'

He's an inconsistent bastard, but his high points are as great as anyones

i know he's meant

to be a bit of a control freak in the studio, but other than that i've heard he's quite the geez.
