Agreed on Johnny Foreigher, was very sad when we had to cancel our clubnight. Our clubnight that they were going to be playing at.

anyone wanting to hear great unsigned music - go down to blotto rehearsal rooms in highgate/digbeth in brum...
johnny foreigner, 360, GBH, paradox/lionart, etc... just go and stand outside the rehearsal rooms and listen to the magic. much better than another 'best midlands' band
With so many small labels releasing music, acts self-releasing music and the ease in which one can record something good DIY without needing a record company to pay for sessions isn't determining how 'successful' a band is by whether their signed or unsigned a pretty outmoded concept?
For example I'm strictly speaking a 'signed' act. There's a label who are gonna pay to release and distribute my songs for the forseeable future (I've actually not signed a contract with them but only 'cos both me and them decided to do it on trust). But I'm certainly no more 'succcessful' (whatever that means) than a vast number of unsigned acts in the UK.
that bands like Enter Shikari, and A&R men and women across the country use the word "unsigned" as a euphemism for "instantly cool". Does anyone genuinely believe that people like Enter Shikari are unsigned?!

Does 'unsigned' still have any meaning?
