Super busy animals: Three albums on the way

Gruff Rhys, crooner for Welsh pop artists Super Furry Animals, has revealed that the band are working on a trio of new albums.
In conversation with NME.com, the singer he said: "We just finished mixing the new record, but we're working on about three different Furries records at the moment. We've got so much music, which we'll put out gradually.
The first to cross the finishing line will be an album of the 'rocky numbers' that had replaced slower songs towards the end of the band's last tour.
"We've got about 20 hours worth of music recorded. The next record's a bit of a racket.
"We've got an orchestral record on the way too, completely instrumental. But that will take a while."
The first album is currently being mixed for release in the Spring on new label Rough Trade, but when pressed on an exact release date Rhys responded: "We're not in a mad rush, but the sooner the better I suppose."
As far as I can gather that makes two albums, not three. So from this point, let the missing record be known as the secret record. The next thing SFA release will be the follow up to 2005's Love Kraft.

I really, really, really
want them to bring out a Techno album. The techno/dancey stuff they go into when they jam at the end of gigs is bloody brilliant. I'm sure i read somewhere once, they said they would one day record an album of techno. Or maybe i just dreamt it.

I think they once did record one, but not sure what happened to it. Would be ace if it does see the light of day sometime though!!

...wel, since they said something like this before back in the Guerrila days. Candylion is a nice song, bless Gruff. But a noisey SFA album? Awesome. Improve on Night Vision and I will be ecstatic!

Acid Casuals
I think maybe the electronic album that was rumored for so long eventually just turned into the Acid Casuals albums, though that's not exactly techno, so maybe not.

Also...
Candylion (the song, but the album also), is the best thing related to SFA to come out since Rings Around the World, or maybe even Mwng, no song writer can compete with Gruff Rhys these days, I swear.

I'm looking forward to the next album almost as much as I cannae wait for the The Good The Bad The Queen, and seeing em live in Pompy. I predict 2007 to be a goodgood year. 2006 has been real horrowshow

I want to hear them make some noise!!! Furries are geniuses in whatever field they tackle in my opinion
Have to echo though that a SFA Techno album is long overdue, theyve hinted at one for years now. Acid Casuals wasnt it as it only had one or 2 members of the furries, what we need is a full band effort for the techno album as i agree, the few electronic tracks they have done are amazing.

Cian is the main guy in Acid Casuals, and I'm sure any SFA electro album would be pretty heavy on his contributions, and I'd be surprised if the other members of SFA weren't somehow involed with Omni.

Techno
The techno album was mentioned around 2000 when Mwng was released, but they canned it and ended up using bits of it on the menus on the RATW DVD.
This, on the other hand, is great news.
