DiS does STUFF: MTV2, tours, shows, sexyfun!

mtv sex

Wow! Sexy rock action! From us! To you! Starting right flippin' now.

The rest of November sees DiS get all nice and stuff, giving you, the readers, the opportunity to not only attend awesome gigs, but to also watch videos that we've selected on your televisions. In your house! Or flat. Do you have a license? I am telling!

THIS WEEKEND, MTV2 has allowed DrownedinSound.com (i.e. us) to take over their 120 Minutes programme, which basically means that from 1am on Sunday morning (12 November) you get two hours of DiS-controlled music television. What have we chosen? How about you wait and see?! And get the drinks in... we will be.

The show will be repeated at times we simply don't know over the next, like, month or something. SEX.

In addition to this televisual sexiness, we've a sexy tour on the go as of this evening featuring Adam Gnade - he's sat upstairs drinkin' as I type, LMAO! - Blood Red Shoes and Youthmovies. These, these are the dates...

November (Youthmovies and Adam Gnade on all dates)
10 Hertford Marquee plus Blood Red Shoes
11 Liverpool Evol
12 Manchester Night & Day
13 Nottingham Stealth plus Blood Red Shoes
14 London 93 Feet East plus Blood Red Shoes
15 Birmingham Flapper & Firkin
16 Leeds Brudenell Social Club plus Blood Red Shoes
18 Oxford Zodiac plus Blood Red Shoes

Also on November 18, Adam Gnade plays at DiS's DiScover Club, at Notting Hill Arts Club, London, alongside the frankly flippin' amazing Viking Moses, The Monroe Transfer and Ape Has Killed Ape. Click here for full details of this FREE show.

And there's a reason why the Saturday show's so quiet - the night before we'll be raving at The Barfly to the sounds of Los Campesinos! and safetyword. I LIKE! Tickets for the DiScover Club at The Barfly show are priced at a fiver advance and are available from here.

Wow! Come and dance with us (click here to add it to your gig calendar), 'cause we'll be DJing!

Speaking of which, there's more... On November 22, at London's Metro, DiS will be disc-jockeying like crazy between acts at Snowden's headline show - click here for details and ticket-purchasing links. And then we'll be manning the decks at These Arms Are Snakes' London date, at The Underworld, on November 29 (add yourself to this gig here).

And then we'll have a lie down. Promise. Until more sexyfun comes our way in December!

Hooray.

  • Hasn't the Dis 120 minutes thing been on before?

    I could be wrong.

    • erm... no

we only finished the tracklisting this morning!

      • I LIKE!

      • Really?

Have you guys done one previously then? Cos I'm sure I've seen a dis curated 120 minutes before.

  • how was Rupert?

don't worry, he can't cross the threshold of DiS Towers unless you invite him in...

    ...oh, dear...

  • erm

how can youthmovies be playing in birmingham on the 15th when they're playing in hull that night? ( http://theadelphi.com/whon.htm ).

    • *confused*

      Check local press, I guess!

      • what, in hull?

        you're 'avin a laugh.
anyway, looks like the birmingham date has been pulled and replaced with a hull one - with youthmovies, curtis eller, and adam gnade all playing at the Adelphi. suggest you update the news post!

        • Or...

          people can scroll and read...

...or show up to Brum and get told to sod right off.

          • SiGNAL FAiLURE in Leeds 16th Nov

The Leeds date brought to you by iLiKETRAiNS (SiGNAL FAiLURE) on 16th November also sees The Strange Death of Liberal England. Awesome line-up. £5!

  • Oooh.

    *sets SKY+*

  • 120 Minutes

Someone on the MTV2 site did a tracklist:

    http://www.mtv.co.uk/channel/mtv2/mtv2/120_minutes_1

Never heard a Fall song called "I Disappear"...

    • That was

      The Faint.

A pretty good programme, although I thought you played it a bit safe, especially as it was on 120 Minutes at 1am, there were no real 'edgy' tracks, apart from perhaps The Icarus Line.

      • A few were taken out by MTV2.

And a few of our edgy selections they simply didn't have.

        • It's being repeated right this minute

in the highly unlikely event that anyone is sitting near a sky box with the necessary subscription and is reading this right now...
