Like having your ears wrestled by big muscley men in tight shirts and foreign accents?? Do you?? Well there's gonna be plenty of 'em over the coming months as the gigging season gets well and truly under way. DiS has scanned the list and hand-picked the most inticing metal and [insert latest scene inflection here]-core bands that are will be sending tongues a-wagging on the stage.

Disgustingly heavy metal-core maestros CONVERGE will also be tearing it up in support of their awesome-in-parts-but-still-kind-of-average album 'You Fail Me'. You can downland the MP3 and view the really-quite-amazing video for the track 'Black Cloud' here No Idea punks PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS support of course. No linkage to MP3s cos, well, they're not that good.

22.06.2005 UK Manchester Star and Garter

Later in the year the legendary INSTED, who were a major staple on bills with the likes of Gorilla Biscuits, Bold and Uniform Choice in the late '80s and were at one point signed to Epitaph Records, will be reforming for a special one-off UK show. See what all the fuss is about here.

24.07.2005 UK London Underworld

And finally, the mecca for any self-respecting hardcore-punk fan, FuryFest, will be making a welcome return at Le Mans in France 24/25/26 June.

Although a short hop over the pond it's the closest we've got to the likes of Hellfest and Krazyfest, especially when the likes of NEUROSIS, Anti-Flag, Arch Enemy, Backfire, Behemoth, Cataract, Cephalic Carnage, Discipline, Enslaved, ENVY, Heaven Shall Burn, Immolation, In Flames, Integrity, 7 SECONDS, xMaroonx (Boo! Hiss!), Mayhem, Most Precious Blood, MURPHY'S LAW, Napalm Death, Paint It Black, Suicidal Tendencies, The Business, US Bombs and Walls Of Jericho have confirmed already! Hurrah!

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

yeah...you fail me is fucking excellent.

...and may i actually be the only one who thinks PMFS are quite good?

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

fair play for having a bit of a dig and getting some proper hard hardcore in! you fail to mentoin by the way that hatebreed are being supported by crowbar, which id say is well worth a mention!

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

How pleasing it is to hear that Newport TJs is still as shit as when I used to go.
'used to go' meaning once.
I ran away.

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

PMFS are mildly better than Eighteen sodding Visions.

Am I the only one who finds Hatebreed absolutely hilarious (although I expect this is unintentional)? I love Mongoloid-Core.

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

yeh hatebreed are funny, but theyre audience is funnier, i mean come on, what in the WORLD are you doing? vestcore wankers beating each other up, its odd. i wonder if these tools go down their local parks and windmill at ducks when theres no hardcore gigs to go to, coz they sure as shit dont seem to care about whos playing.... could be the worst hardcore band in the world but ........oh hello, theres windmill twat again!
id never say hatebreed are funny to there faces though, that would be ever so silly.

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Can I shake your virtual hand nappy_coin? That post sums up what I hate about hardcore shows so well. And Hatebreed are fucking abysmal, as are all those glorified metal bands that talk about "honour" and "the edge".

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

Erm... yes - I agree wholeheartedly. It is pretty funny watching em all go absoluetly APESHIT for the likes of Born From Pain and Settle The Score and other 3 word bands that try to convey just how HARD and fucking TOUGH-core they are.

But... in some twisted way that's also why I like the music, and band's like Hatebreed. It's all comedy-core to me. In the same way I love Twisted Sister and Iron Maidon - I mean, c'mon - men in leotards shouting praise to the God's of metal!! It's funny as hell!

You don't seriously expect me to take Hatebreed seriously do you??

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

Would the understand that?

I thought the only words Hatebreed and theif fanbase understood were "breakdown" "mosh" "Hatebreed" and Hatebreed's one lyric of "ROOOOAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!!".

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

haha, now thats a pretty spot-on explanation of hatebreed...although i swear i once heard Jamey Jasta singing...i may have been mistaken though.
toe-tapping.

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

all those dates and not one in or around leicester, shocking...

I have to agree that the last converge album is average in parts...its good, but from converge we expect more.

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

i like Hatebreed.

Anyway...........

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

They can be funny in a cliched way, but Jamey Jasta is an incredibly nice guy. Might take himself a little seriously but nice all the same.

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

Excuse me? You forgot the Blood Brothers! I'm seeing them in Glasgow on March the 25th, gonna be feckin great. Listening to Burn Piano Island, Burn right now actually.

Re: Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

Err... if thats the kinda hardcore you mean.

Hardcore Tours Galore in 2005

Bleeding Through was pretty impressive last night.

Usual hardcore antics detracted from the set for me but maybe I'm just getting old and cynical. Windmilling at ducks in the park. That image will cheer me up all day.
